My hand built Gutierrez one off custom destroyed all of my USA name brand stuff. All the beautiful tops, custom paint jobs and such are smoke-rolled by this workhorse of a guitar built by a guy who should be famous.

MIJ Charvel So Cal, almost as nice as my MIA So Cal.

My new Jackson Soloist SL2Q MAH in Transparent blue with curly Maple top..I had heard or read that some people say that Jackson really didn't do a good job on this one,but I have had about 10 Jacksons and still have my made in USA Soloist from 2009 and know that most of their stuff is good quality,so I took a chance and I am so glad I did !
This has become my favorite guitar even over my USA model.I did take out the original SD "Distortion" bridge pickup and put in a Black Winter trembucker and man it just kicks some serious ass for $1K..
I have been all over this guitar and didn't find even a small minor finish flaw or frets needing some work, and the Ebony fretboard really lets the notes fly off the fretboard, and it stays in tune even with heavy whammy bar use..the next one is the ESP LTD "Black Metal" with the Strat style body, another kickass guitar for a fair price,I will be ordering one in 6-8 weeks.

Took home a PRS Holcomb model. Was amazed at what an awesome sounding/playing guitar it was for the $ Sadly the volume knob location killed it for me, and I returned it. Also really hard for me to buy new guitars that don't have stainless frets. Still wrestling with the thought of picking it back up and moving the volume pot just because how great it played and sounded.

Charvel Charvette and Yamaha Revstar (Indonesian made).

Washburn X50ProQ, made in Korea mid 2000s? Really nice sounding axe that has the Buzz Feiten tuning and stayed in tune better than any other hardtail I've played. 2-300 bucks used. Only sold it because the neck is like a 57 LP...huge. Came with Duncans, neck thru construction. It was my drop D guitar for a while when gigging a couple years back.

USA made Peavey LTDs surprised the hell out of me. They have become my #1s.

Ive got a P90 version of the USA built peavey, I was really surprised at how well it played, but their version of the P90's blew my sox off, they were killer sounding!

I've owned Charvels, Les Pauls, Strats, etc., etc. and one of the best guitars I've ever played was an LTD 401 (I believe). It stayed in tune, zero noise, and sounded awesome.

I usually go for more ergonomic solid body guitars (PRS, EB/MM Silhouette), but I recently got a Gibson ES-335 and really dig the way it sounds and plays.
