What happened to the freaking Bartlett Pickup Rings Thread?

I believe I was the first one to ask if the rings smelled like cork. If you can't take a joke you should take yer $300 and buy a sense of humor IMO. If I had $10k that I could afford to spend on a guitar you could call me whatever kind of cork sniffer or cocksucker you wanted, it wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit.

Me either - I thought it was kinda funny, myself.

Maybe it's just gotten too nice and polite and if anyone goes slightly out of bounds, everyone goes uh-oh and dials it back to nice safe levels.

Also maybe just the way it goes with the growth of anything. The founders, a tight close-knit group, eventually disperse due to the mass...

Exactly Bob. We had some MONSTROUS flame wars and there was a lot of fun and excitement about lots of different things back then. It wasn't that any of us were new to forums either. Maybe they've been slipping small amounts of Xanax into our food and we're all just mellowed out or faded away or everyone just avoids any sort of topic that gets too heated. At least on this main forum here. I rarely venture onto any of the other headings here.

And if you are a "new guy" here, it doesn't mean I don't like you or that I think someone who used to be here is cooler than you and they should come back and you should leave. Not at all. I think there's room for all of us. This was more "community" feeling as sah5150 said, but there was also way more all out brawling going on too. It was just extremely fun and this forum just kept drawing you back to it all day long, "I wonder what he said..... I wonder what's going on in the Cameron vs. Splawn thread with Dirrty Craig...." etc etc.

i remember i was at sam ass in orlando for a geroge lynch clinic and i seen dirty criag just standing there and you couldnt miss the dude, we talked for a min and he was a good dude, sure loved his splawns.

but love this forum. Tons of info...lots of cool new GEAR DAYS...
I dont give a rats ass if its $3.00 picks.....or $10,000 Les Pauls....
I love to read about new gear and seeing someone get excited about it.

Seen lots of guys bail (Sad for some .....good riddance to some ).....seen lots of new guys join...(Awesome)
But its always been the same. All about guys talking gear....having a crack....good times.
I seen all the gear come and go.. but I still love talking about it.
This is just a place to hang for me. Dont care if your new or old....have fun!!
Like to make fun of threads...not trying to piss people off...but get a laugh.
But hey....it is what it is. Its a gear forum thread. Some people grow out of them....but new people join at the same time.

What I think is funny is that it mentions "Zachman on Racks" on the cover of Cork Sniffer mag and I don't think Zach ever thought that was anything buy funny.

I notice I don't see Zach around as much since he bought that guitar shop. I don't see Brad much either. What are those guys doing? Helping customers? Priorities guys!

ok being serious, these rings look way better than the ones gibson is using on their aged guitars, the color is alot closer to the real color and the aging looks pretty good.

I can see where some guys want to take it serious and not joke about it. Thats cool for sure.
I owned close to 400 guitars....a lot of amps....and they all were great. Everything has its place.

I would laugh at a funeral....but thats just me.
