What happened to Vinnie Vincent?

Wow, that was quite a read.

Also didnt know his wife of the past 20 yrs just died a few months ago

Vincent's playing, felt Stanley, "was like puking — it just came splattering out."

That sums it up nicely.

When that Invasion album came out I realized how unmusical music could sound.

I don't know why, but I started watching some of this....he has many moments of brilliance, but lots of white noise mess too. I think this is before Yngwie hit it big, so in retrospect he was really the only one playing with this speed.
I like the solo at 3:32

He did manage to play really fast for that time, problem was it just had no feel or musical quality at times when more emphasis was put on speed then the song itself. Paul Stanley said that vinnie Vincent's solo spot during the kiss show was the hi point of the night, meaning that was when everyone in audience and band left to go get high!! Vinnie was also arrested for domestic stuff a few yrs back and his house was a complete shithole littered with bodies of dead dogs over the yrs that were never burried.

True, but then ironically he had a bit of success as a songwriter(!?) I guess the lure to be King Solo Showtime destroyed him

It's not even funny at how much better Yngwie is or was the Vinnie.

This is a great Yngwie vid- wow is tone is almost SRV clean and the execution is stunning...and he was releasing this stuff before Vinnie? ok I'll strip him of my praise. He blows

I hated Vinnie Vincent. He looked like one of my friends Mom when I was in Junior High. He might even been a tad more feminine as well.

Now I understand how shit got started on the net with other guitar players you should probably research your facts better dickhead.

His playing didn't fit old KISS.

Ace was the man. He drank enough and was enough of an asshole blues man rockstar to make it work.

Vinnie looked like a crack head soccer mom.

It's Public record about the arrest and the dead dogs, sorry to insult your hero

I watched a bunch of the Hot Licks video above. He had some good ideas in there, although the execution was often.....[ahem]....

I LOVED VV in Kiss, his solo records have good tunes, but he shits all over them with the over the top Vernon Reid mish mash solos...he really NEEDED to be in a band like Kiss where he was controlled, left to his own devices he fucked everything up.

Love him or hate him, many would argue that Vinnie saved Kiss' career. I personally don't like his playing, but then I was never a fan of hair metal.

Original Journey frontman Robert Fleischman interview on working with Vinnie, supposed Dana Strum gear thievery, The Sky, etc.

Robert wrote Wheel In The Sky, Anytime, and Winds Of March.
