It's not even funny at how much better Yngwie is or was the Vinnie.

Agreed... and oh man... you brought back the memories. I used to play all of Yngwie's Alcatrazz stuff and the first two Rising Force albums note-for-note for practice every day. My favorite Alcatrazz solo was probably the one to "Bigfoot". Good stuff!

Also, before I found Yngwie in '85, I had been on a big Akira Takasaki kick. That was good stuff too. Thank goodness I never felt "inspired" to learn Vinnie's stuff. What a bunch of crap.

I LOVED VV in Kiss, his solo records have good tunes, but he shits all over them with the over the top Vernon Reid mish mash solos...he really NEEDED to be in a band like Kiss where he was controlled, left to his own devices he fucked everything up.

Uggghhhh... I never got all of the love for Vernon Reid's playing. What a bunch of racket! People who can't tell the difference between Yngwie and guys like Vernon, Vinnie, etc are either really not listening, or they are tone deaf. There's a HUGE difference! Not only in what's being said, but in style and tone. Yngwie does SO much more than just "play fast".

Upon reading this, I was horrified and googled the story to read more details. One of the sites had a rebuttal by Vinnie and it was very well-worded (seemed like something I would write if someone ever accused me of the heinous crime of animal cruelty). I hope his version of the story is true and if it is, it's pretty shitty that people would start rumors like that. If not, then to hell with him.

I lived in Nashville and worked at WKRN at the time of that whole thing. I remember the animals in coolers part but the cheese, wine, hanging corpses from trees was not reported... at least in the news.

I'm wasn't being close minded, frankly I could give a shit about him. I didn't say he was guilty, I didn't witness it personally. I only mentioned the weird shit I read reported in major newspapers and sights. Not like I repeated it off some fuckin forum. I know how cops can a bitter ex can exaggerate shit and he may have been innocent , but he was arrested and did have to post bail and did have dead dogs in his house. It was reported all over.
