What has happened to the online community over the last 10 Years or so?Used to buy and sell, people would email tracking, phone numbers, have conversations and even maintain contact for a while after sales. Now,people don't even acknowledge when you send them tracking info or when they get an item, let you know they shipped,etc...reverb and ebay are just as bad....at least with Reverb you get a better shipping rate and buyer protection...which is essential now.....just wondering why things have changed so drastically?

Some people still do. But, moreso these days many don't, and seem to have an aversion for communication, etc. That's why I still value reputation, history, and such.

Part of the problem is that most people are online now because of smart phones and social media. That really started around a decade ago or so. Previously, having and using a computer was a barrier to entry.

The easier all these things are made to do, the more likely shiftless idiots will be doing them.

I send tracking numbers instantly and I am one of the greatest buyers and sellers in the history of forums. Now let me tell you friend I am from Nigeria and have inherited $40,000,000 and need your help kind sir...

You would think but I actually had a guy send me an amp from the gear page, who was apposed to have a stellar reputation, poorly packaged and the.headshell cracked....took multiple attempts to even get a.respsonsw..you can see.if they ignore your messages ....finally agreed to partial refund...part of the reason I only buy and sell through reverb now.....that was the last straw

That sounds like a real drag, to put it deliberately mild. Big, heavy things are always a much higher risk.
That said, the last amp I sold online happened via TGP and went great. But, the buyer and I had a few conversations to clarify some details & expectations and make sure we both understood those things.

The number of people out there who lack basic communication skills has increased greatly.
This is, unfortunately, a big part of many moderrn problems. Whether it's willful or not.
Lazy dipshits and scammers just "enhance" things even more sometimes, and the increase of that crap continues to lower the bar.

I hope things work out for the OP.

Did you get the amp I sent you?

oddly, this forum has always been my go-to for selling stuff. I've never had a problem, ever with buyers here.

I usually put in as much effort when selling as I would like to have when buying. This includes communication, telling the buyer, when the package will be ready for shipping, a good packaging job and tracking number.

I simply don’t want to deal with any problems afterwards like damaged amps in shipping that could be prevented beforehand
