just curious to see what everyone digs with this amp. I have not settle on anything yet but i do have a torpedo live. Love to hear what you are using for jamming and recording.

"A cabinet". That's helpful. :lame:

I use the ownhammer Marshall cab ir pack with all the different speakers. I want to try the oversized Mesa and 74 Marshall with pre rola he just put up for sale.

Ok this may or may not answer your question. I am an AXE FX 2 guy. I run my AXE FX with a Matrix GT800FX power amp powering 1 EVH 412 and 1 Xitone FRFR cabinet. I run the EVH 412 with no sims out one output and run the Xitone FRFR out the other output with IR sims. Typically I run the Fractal 5153 412 sims or Fractal 25w Green Back sims.

Yesterday I just purchased a 5150 iii 50watt head and 112 EVH cabinet which I love, loud or quiet. Being too lazy to connect the Fractal via the 4 cable method, I ran a cable from the 5150 III headphone out into the input of the Fractal to get delays and reverbs. Ran this with the amp sims off. Holy crap does this sound awesome and this is just the Xitone 412 and the EVH 112 cabinet in stereo. The amps headphone output is absolutely awesome so now I can use the Fractal as a Torpedo of sorts and I now have the ability to add in a bunch of effects and to really push the volume levels on the amps but keep it at whisper volume if needed. Really ghetto way of doing it but it really sounds awesome and controlled. Blue and Red channels sound huge at whisper volumes.

Have you tried some of the cabs from LeBoutique? I use the Britt 1935, Fried25,30 and the UberKab 30, 75 and BoGreen. They all sound fabulous with my amp!

Uber30 and Fried30 are my favorites from LeBoutique. They sound great with my EVH as well as my Uber.

I was just goofing. Relax.

I have a 5150 iii 50w 1x12 combo and I love it. Huge sound 60lb makes it great for gigs. Has wheels, that's a plus. Consistent tone night after night. Sounds great with any humbucker guitar I put through it. I think for a mass produced series no boutique amp its got the best crunch channel around. That, and the portability won the race for me.

Rosen Digital has a collection of 5153-type irs that are excellent.

Please share which mic/cab combinations + settings you use, as there is such a huge difference between the different mics.

e.g. I was surprised, that some guys are using condensers for heavy tones, I always thought dynamic mics were preferred for heavy tones.

See people mixing the two all of the time.....condenser/dynamic......

With my EVH 100S my go to cabs are the Ractofire and BoGreen. The Brownyback and Fastback25 are great too.
