i was thinking of adding a reverb pedal on my pedal board ..... most of my previous amps had reverb and i didnt need a pedal but now that i have a twin jet and it doesnt have verb i was gona use it to maybe add a little sweetness to the cleans on the amp

which ones do you dudes like???

I run the Demeter Reverbulator (real twin spring reverbs) and love it.

ive always liked lexicon reverbs and TC reverbs.

i have used TC reverbs and delays on a gm-I and loved the tone that was capable out of it.

i know TC makes nova pedals with dual sends/returns for delay and chorus, i believe they make a reverb model as well?

i have also heard people say that a digitech pedal reverb is lexicon's reverb on the super cheap, not sure how much of this is true. if it is, i would definately recommend checking it out.

The TC Nova reverb is pretty good and so is the Trex Roomate.

I have the Hardwire RV on my board....the verbs in are Lexicon and its a pretty good sounding pedal. Probably over engineered for my situation and quite a solid/heavy pedal as well. In hindsight for my needs a MXR holy grail nano would have been a better fit.......

It depends on if you are looking for just a 1 or 2 knob reverb pedal or a multi-knob pedal. I have a hermida reverb that I use in front of my single channel amps. It is just one knob and sounds great. I also have a Digitech Hardwire RV-7 that I use in the loop of my multichannel amps. The RV-7 has many more modes, but I mainly just use it in spring or plate.

I used to have a line6 verbzilla, it was a nice pedal sound wise, but the bypass was poor if it was out front in my rig. Also, I had to run it off its own adapter as it made noise if you tried to daisy chain it. Overall I like the Digitech RV-7 better.

Here are some others I have generally heard good things about:

-Lee Jackson Mr. Springy
-Vansamps soulmate
-Dr. Scientist RRR (they are redesigning it, it will be hard to get, also expensive comparitively)
-Tech 21 Boost Reverb
-TC Electronics Nova Reverb
-Maelekko Spring Chicken or Chicklet. (Spring Chicken is discontinued)
-Trex roomate

i used to use an EH holy grail (the full size one) and it was great. for some reason i sold it a few years ago and when i decided to buy a new verb i went with the nova reverb and it's also a great verb pedal with tons of options. that said, i use one setting on the nova making all those options a bit of a waste, plus it's fairly big and power hungry (needs 12v 300mA) so it's getting the boot (not due to tone) and i'm going to the newer EH holy grail nano.

so either of them are a good choice IMO, just depends on if you want simple (EH) or truckloads of options (TC).

im really looking for something thats really simple to use and is reliable

how are the boss reverb pedals ???

Boss are ok tone and reliable. I had a Boss RV-5 for a few years and just sold it. I never used it after getting a Dr. Scientist Reverberator. Kicked the Boss to the curb, it did.

I used a T Rex Roommate with that Uber. I just couln't get happy with anything going through the loop of that amp. I'm not a big fan of Bogner's loop.

yea the loop really isnt the greatest .... i notice a loss in tone when the loop is switched on

i only mess around with effects when i play at home so its not a big deal .....

and i really only run effects on my cleans so it doesnt bother me too much since i dont really play on the clean too much ...... that ch1 with the gain up is awesome

i just think a reverb pedal would be fun to mess around with :)

I may have to check out this HW verb, I have to admit I am really used to my Lexicon verbs though.

The hardwire reverb and delay are great little pedals. The only issue is when the Fortin is in Parallel it seems it takes a lot of output to hear anything in this loop. On the Lonestar i can put the Hardwire delay up about halfway and it pretty audible in the loop. On the Fortin with the pedal up halfway and the send and return controls on the Fortin at 50%, i can't hear the pedal in the loop at all. But the reverb seemed to work a little better, just meaning i could hear it.

If i use the Replifex in the Fortin loop i have to set the input and output on the Rocktron all the way up when using the loop in Parallel.

When using a parallel loop the fx level should be maxed out on the pedal and the mix knobs on the loop are your level controls. this may explain why you are having less than desirable results with your parallel loop.

i didnt like the RV-5, i thought the TC and lexicon reverbs sounded much more realistic and less tinny, and much more convincing of a real reverb.
