What is Gary Holt using for amps on current Exodus tour?

Looking at his pedalboard above: I see ? 2 sd-1s and a wah. There seems to be another small metal grey box as well? Any ideas?
In front of the middle SD-1? I can't see it well enough. Tuner maybe?

Could be.
Seemed like a weird spot for it, shrugs, but I'm guessing on a tour he'd have a board tuner. Just a guess though.

I used to use a couple Blue Notes in a two OD set up like that when I played strats into a Marshall. One for rhythm work and kick the second one for leads. It was a good setup, efficient, simple, and there wasn't a stupid sounding gain spike when I hit the 2nd pedal.

Best “tone” show I ever went to was Exodus. Probably 20 years ago on the Tempo tour in a small club. He played a Peavey XXX on the amber channel all night. No boost. I was smashed against front rail and it was glorious
One that stands out for me was one of the Supersucker shows. Dan Bolton at a small club show. I was able to be 20 feet in front of his cab. 1960BX and a 1987X IIRC. Les Paul, Plexi, and greenbacks. Killer.

Exodus singer is a fucking beast!!!!!!!!! Guitars were dialed in to CRUSH HEADS.
I'm really glad to see Rob Dukes back with the band. I always thought he fit the role great as their frontman and loved the string of albums he was on - especially the Atrocity Exhibition A & B albums. The dude was a guitar tech for the band before he started singing and isn't a half bad player, at all.

He also carries a Quad Cortex for a fly-rig, and will run it through power and cabs that are backlined.

Lee runs a Quad Cortex through a Marshall 9200 into cabs.

Did Rob quit or was he fired? That Zetro dude was a joke. Rob rules!

Yeah, he was - Zetro was brought back in and Dukes let go and then the same old shit of course started in with Zetro and the band over those next two albums. Gary talks about it in his book and throughout mentions how the band never made the best decisions and that was one of them.

I wish they'd bring back Rick Hunolt - Rick has been clean for a long time and playing great these days....they can do the Maiden thing with three guitarists lmfao

I was going to say, a few of the clips I have seen, his tone sounds fantastic and I wondered too what was behind it. Amps still rule but would not surprise me if they now use load boxes and IR's for night after night consistency. Bit bummed I am not seeing them and Anthrax/Megadeth tonight but I think i have bronchitis and just don't have the energy to bang it out with other dads in a crowded space. Every Feb never fails, I seem to be sick for most of the month. Born with bum lungs I guess. Got a cold beginning of Feb which rolled into gastro, half a week recovery, chest cold took over after i played hockey and been on my puffer since. Gotta love " middle age" :D

The reason they don’t I believe is that the risk of him relapsing is too great. Lee is a very good player but only the H Team produces the classic Exodus chemistry

I saw that tour. He was using his Marshall, and Rick was using a Triple XXX. Rick was totally geeked out, high on meth. That's when they gave him the boot because of his drug problems.

Rick was actually a monster player. Another student of Satriani and he's always been the better lead player, no contest. Gary couldn't touch his technique, and overall skill, and nobody can tell me otherwise.

Yes. I sent him the info on that pedal on instagram and next thing you know he’s the first guy to use one. I’ve been using one with my Jubilee since GupTec started making them. I think he’s still using his signature mid boost.
Yeah that was it, a mid boost.
The GupTech kills through a Jube. I used it more for additional presence than low end though.

2004 reunion and beyond I’d agree. During their classic era they were pretty even keeled. Miss those H and H trade off lead breaks
