To me, this is a hard one. I like both Fender Strat and Gibson Les Paul headstocks, as well as other Gibson headstocks. I don't like the tele headstock. As far as other, I like the Luxxtone headstock (modified strat headstock), and similar to the Nuno headstock. I don't like the Suhr headstock, but I love the guitars, I have a couple. I don't mind PRS headstocks, but that newer headstock they make and might be Santana headstock? To me, that one is atrocious. Not really a fan of any of the Anderson headstocks, but like Suhr, they are awesome guitars so I will deal with it. I don't know if it is because the Strat headstock is so ingrained in my head that all others look off, or its just that well done of a design?

For the worst headstock, I would say it is a 2 or 3 way tie with G&L, that Wayne (charvel) headstock, and if I am correctly thinking of the other it is a bc rich that looks like a warped les paul headstock with bull horns sticking out the top. I don't know how Leo Fender came up with the strat, if that was even him, then came up with that aterocious (to me at least) G&L headstock. The Wayne (charvel) headstock is beyond atrocious bordering on the offensive. I can honestly say that I would not play one of those because of that damn headstock. Oh, and the Reverand. That one is a bummer to me also, but hey what do I know, I cant even assemble a Warmoth properly, let alone build a guitar and design a headstock shape.

My favorite would be Caparison and Ibanez RG.
Least would be anything squared off.

Jackson/charvel pointy, esp, and I like how merrow redesigned the Schecter shape..

Reverse Ibanez, love it on my RG565's.
ESP, Jackson, Caparison, love these.

But.......

The Dean series II V headstock is the one that started it all, Dimebag especially. I was hooked the moment i saw him play his ML.

PWE and Tyler win for fugly but I like them because they are so weird

for Jackson pointy is the third most iconic headstock

I like the reverse Jackson the best of any, followed by the reverse ESP Explorer style on the Lynch sig guitars.

I don't know if it's more iconic than the Flying V, Explorer o Tele headstocks, but it's definitely right up there.

The Dean, Ibanez, and PRS headstocks are probably right behind too.
