I was at a shop that carries high end gear and the owner was on the phone with someone explaining why he does not carry Fender any longer, Fender did not want their guitars hanging with Nash stuff and told the owner to drop Nash.

I see Nash uses Fender headstocks, are they parts guitars?

The shop has a $25,000 Frankie hanging in there, thought it was a piece of shit with a neck pocket I could slide credit cards in between the neck and pocket.

There's a brouhaha over on TGP. Apparently fender is strong arming dealers (unofficially) to not carry fender-"like" guitars, exact headstock or no.

Makes sense, this shop dropped everything made by Fender Music Inc. They were a big Charvel and Jackson dealer as well before Fender found out about him carrying Nash.

Don't know if I agree with that model, I would think he could sell more CS fender stuff than Nash.

wouldn't that be something-all shops including guitar center dump fender-way to backfire :D

senn guitars are sounding amazing to me-like ultimate fenders- but you might have better luck finding amelia earheart than buying one this decade.

in the end that would be the only way i could ever imagine catering to a customer base as neurotic as the boutique guitar community, choose the customer you wish to service ala dumble. might not get rich but you may just walk away with your sanity.

Yeah, Fender seems like a much better bet to pay the rent. Even if they are douchebags.

Meh, I dunno, making exact copies of Fenders could also be considered douchy.

I hear you. I have NO problem at all with them protecting their trademarks. To me where it crosses over into douchery is when they try to get a dealer to drop say a Suhr or Anderson because they make strat-ish or tele-ish guitars, even though there's no trademark violation going on.

If you're making a fender headstock (and worse yet putting a fender logo on it) then you got no room to complain...

I'm a fan of Nash's stuff. Whether it is "douchy" or not, his instruments play and sound great! Mesa Boogie Hollywood is another shop that carries Nash.

I would think a Nash buyer would not be interested in fender and the same for a fender buyer.

So are the necks made by Nash or are they Allparts?

Agreed. I dig my Nash '57 relic... They are parts guitars, but the build/setup on the Nash's is really good for the price - half of a custom shop Fender...

I'm interested in both, but I liked the Nash guitars better... I don't know who makes their necks and bodies, but they are parts guitars that Nash relics, assembles and sets up - great players...

Hey, it's painstakingly authentic to the original. Ya want them to make a pefect neck pocket, when the real deal was a barely playable piece of shit? ;) :D

I don't think that information has been given out. I know he doesn't claim to mill his own necks or anything. I've also heard rumors that they are warmoth necks but I've never heard that confirmed.

Oh, I did not know they were less money! I thought they were in the same price range but now this makes sense, kind of when GMW was getting chased around by fender due to Lee's lower prices.

I figured TGP liked them so $$$$$$$ :D

I should have known this.

Just because Jags leaked oil and had crap electronics does not mean I would buy a restored one with the same problems so it was period correct! :D

I will admit that it did look and feel beat to shit and weathered.

I'm guessing whoever it is at Fender that takes the guitar off the rack and throws their keys at it for an hour didn't build the neck either...
