What is your lead boost?

My amp doesn't have an amazing built in lead boost and I am just trying to see what different options I might have.

Right now I am using the MXR 10 band EQ for a lead boost. The EQ really does not benefit my amp in the loop as an always on pedal so I just bump the high mids and volume a bit for a lead boost and it works just fine so I may leave it but I am curious of what else is out there.

I plan to get a wah pedal and it seems like it will be a PITA to have to step on the eq boost and then the wah pedal in a split second. I am not too knowledgeable on different wah pedals and correct me if I am wrong but those do not come with a volume boost in them do they?

I use an RC Booster for solo boost. Crybabys have a boost button but it's fixed and I assume you want an adjustable (and switchable on-the-fly) boost. Usually I switch other things and then the boost but with wah the boost has to get switched first.

yeah I would want an adjustable boost level in the wah, unless it was already a perfect boost for leads.

I have only had 1 wah (535q) and it was years ago so I can't remember if that increased any volume or not.

That Line boost looks pretty awesome and would consider swapping my eq out for one but also curious about the wah's with built in boost.

I would still need a separate boost like the MXR because I won't use the wah for every single lead I don't think.

The boost button would have been a little metallic red button near the heel on the right on the Crybaby.

Hmm, I guess I should have kept the 535q

After checking specs, it actually has a 0-16db variable boost. I will say my other guitarist has the Dime wah and his sounded better.

anything.... everything...... or nothing.

A boost. An OD. An EQ. Nothing is perfect until it becomes perfect for you. Everything will depend on your amp and ears. Nothing will depend on random suggestions by other dudes on a forum.

Turn it up loud, the differences are even less apparent between all of these.

What don't you like about using Koko boost with the Uber?

I use different ones depending on the amp I am using. Primarily, I have been using the TC Electronic Spark Mini as a clean boost but I also have an OCD Fulltone and a TS808HW that I use. I prefer the Fulltone with my Archon and the TS808HW with my Mesa amps.

nothing added, i use an always on boost/eq and just switch to another channel set for a higher gain.

I boost the volume with the 2nd channel of my Unleash. I might also boost gain with an MXR custom modified badass.

Hey everyone, Make sure to post this on every post by this guy. Any time he asks for your opinions.

Not too worried about it.. pretty sure anything I post will be buried by you posting another meaningless thread about amp builders names on their amps or youtube trollers. :poke:

For a simple answer on pedals... go with a crowd pleaser, KoKo boost V. 1 on the mid side. Done.

Keep in mind you normally run a wah out front so the boost that it provides is only going to drive the front of the amp into a bit more saturation. For a volume bump you need something in the loop that can provide a clean level boost...EQ or the like.

Not sure if the Uberschall is the same, but on my Helios as well as the 20th Anniversary XTC I had you can run a jumper in the FX loop and use the FX volume to set a higher volume to kick into with the FX footswitch. At least on the Helios you can even do it w/out the jumper, but I find using the jumper provides better volume control.
