What is your lead boost?

Keep in mind you normally run a wah out front so the boost that it provides is only going to drive the front of the amp into a bit more saturation. For a volume bump you need something in the loop that can provide a clean level boost...EQ or the like.

Not sure if the Uberschall is the same, but on my Helios as well as the 20th Anniversary XTC I had you can run a jumper in the FX loop and use the FX volume to set a higher volume to kick into with the FX footswitch. At least on the Helios you can even do it w/out the jumper, but I find using the jumper provides better volume control.

Thanks for all the suggestions, the Rev 2 does not have a level for the Loop sadly. I think the line is controlled by channel volume.

I already have a Koko boost, it is amazing and not going anywhere but it is my always on overdrive pedal so need something else, I use the mid side. The clean boost side is not going to work for a lead boost.

LOL @Reza

And I will keep looking around. Like I said what I have works (the eq) was just seeing what others like. I may just keep the eq and get a wah with volume boost and problem solved.

I like the Timmy and Cusack Screamer.

cusack screamer v2, with the 3 way toggle, the pedal is by FAR the quietest OD I have ever played, sounds really good, has touch sensitivity, and 3 different awesome sounds! plus amp stays articulate and defined, nowhere near mushing out.

Like this thread! Interesting stuff here, which brings up something I'd like to get a reply on, a little reluctant to ask as I don't know if it's a jv question as far as boost go. Been using an H9 in the loop for a while now and digging it,for a boost you can have a preset with up to +12 db boost, which I'd imagine should cover anything volume wise. Combine that with another gain stage from the amp(be100) and it's a great boost option, combined with a midi pedal and channel switching pedal, lots of stuff out there that do this with one footswitch(switch dr) makes it easy to get there. I liked the front end boost as well but didn't give me a push out front in a band mix. Is it cool to do this I've always wondered as far as the tube life is concerned or anything else for that matter? Great way to have a 2nd master volume and a gain boost!

take a look at the source audio la lady. the options with an iphone and midi are damn near limitless. EVEN setting it up for two drives. one in front and one in (clean boost ) loop. 40 different drives also. OR using one set of ins and outs as a loop for the wah. SO many options with an iphone/midi.

Have the amp modded for a second, footswitchable master volume ???

Me too ! That's why I suggested it ! It's the best way...

An extremely fancy high-end pedal that I had to have custom-made for me called the Boosta Grande.

For boosting solos, I either use an Exotic EP Pre, TS-9 or the boost on my Quick Rod. Depends on what I want it to sound like. Dunlop has a few different wah pedals that have a boost. The 535Q, Slash, CAE, etc.. Once you get used to it, stepping on a boost before going to the wah is not that big of a deal.

If my amp doesn't have a second master, for volume I use an eq pedal. For more gain I'll use one of the higher gain channels on my amp, or for a pedal, a ts-9 or an old are always on your board, along with a few others that come and go

One of my amps (KK++ modded Marshall) has a dual switchable masters that I can use as a boost. I boost my Atomica with the Koko Boost Classic!!! Killer pedal as you already know!!! I keep mine on at times too!!! Just sounds great all around with it on and just using the Boost side.

Another vote for the mxr line boost or the microamp. Easy to use and sound good

Xotic EP boost or the RC Boost V2..nice transparent boost pedals, and luckily both my EVH 5150-3's love these 2 pedals!
