A kahler... check out Kahlers NOS strat replacement at http://www.wammiworld.com/u1005.html The B-29 looks pretty sweet.

I've never heard one in person so I can't "recommend" it per se. Don't think you could go wrong with a Wilkinson either.

I have a hardtail dimarzio just like that and I couldn't stand it. The way the strings sit so deep in the saddles makes it awkward for palm mutes. It sits in a parts drawer now.

I would use a callaham, they sound the best and the quality is way ahead of wilkinson, gotoh, fender etc.

Don't know if they're commercially available or not, but I love the G&L two-point trem. It's my favorite non-locking unit. I also have one guitar with a Wilkinson VS-100, which is very smooth. I prefer the feel of the G&L unit. It just feels more substantial.

Gotoh 510. And if you wanna fancy it up, toss some Graphtech String Saver saddles on it.

I used to LOVE my Wonderbars! They were so fucking big and bulky...!

I'd go with the Wilkinson out of the choice I've seen so far.

WONDERBAR!!!! FTW!!!

thinking of installing a shcaller on my dean, they seem alot tougher than floyd from what's been said about them if that helps.

Say, you wouldn't be interested in a KAHLER, would you?

2228's good

Kage I hated the Wilkinson on my one Shecter I had. However I've played a few Brian Moore guitars with them and they felt entirely different and I liked them. Still I say go with a Fender type trem. Why not use what YJM uses if you know you're going with that feel and tone?

I still have two guitars from the 80s with those. They are big and heavy but stay in tune like nothing else. If you want to tune to drop D you just loosen the fine tuner on the low E/D and the other strings actually stay in tune. If you break a string the other ones actually stay in tune. Who'da thunk it?

I would chose this as well. Of find a NOS Gotoh 1055. Both very nice and a good blend of vintage and modern.

I second the Gotoh 510.
I believe that is what was on GMW #3(My avatar).
It stayed in tune like a champ, and more than one person who tried it commented that it "felt like a Floyd".
Seems like it would be right up your alley Kage.

I have to go with a Fender vintage if we are talking Yngwie clone.

Yeah Pete, you can't go wrong with a Wonderful bar! Nothin like a toaster on top the guitar. :)

Ive never played or seen one, but what about those single locking Fender Floyds? Pair it up with some locking tuners and it could be pretty sweet.

And dont even suggest Kahler or Ill find you and Cock punch you!!!

Im putting together a YJM parts-o-caster and Im debating on what to use tremwise. So far, Ive been thinking about a Wilkinson or a good 2pt fender style. Is there a good updated 6pt trem out there?

Kage
ok Gorilla, settle down
the wilkinson is now my non lock of choice. have it on both my brian moores with graphite nuts, I beat the crap out of the bar and it does not go out, and put on on my carvin bolt kit when I built it and it performs flawlessly
not really a fan of the 6 point, but if you want one I may have my original from my 78 laying around here somewhere.

oh, and btw, I have a kahler on my v (since I ordered it in 84 as a matter of fact) and it does not kill the sustain of the guitar in my opinion

Meh, Im not going for a YJM clone, more like YJM inspired. Ive heard from enough people that the Wilkininson is pretty damn close tonally to vintage and I like the feel way better. Im sure that Ill be fine with that...
