What woods do you use?

wow, thats a large difference.

i could hear the emphasis switch to low end on the alder, and the mid-freqnency cut and gnarl of the horizon was just awsome. it didnt sound mushy at all which is what i was thinking.

damn that sounded great, i much prefer that combination over alder i believe. it brought about a different liveli-ness to the notes/song that really sat well and sounding fucking awsome :rock:

Well, for that same reason a lot of guys who play solos & speed metal or where it requires a lot of low end thump without loosing the clarity choose alder, because it makes single note runs sound big.
 
I'm a big fan of either Mahogany body/Maple cap with a Mahogany neck/Rosewood board or Mahog/Maple-Maple/Ebony.
