What's a good floor pedal noise gate?

I use the MXR Smart Gate. I never compared it to the Decimator, but works great for me. Plus I saw it on a bunch of board builds RackSystems did =)

I have a few songs in my band's set where I do some starting and stopping, I just need to be able to engage it on the tunes so I can sing through those sections without having to try and grab my volume knob.

ISP Decimator, never let me down had it since they came out.

Decimator since you won't have it on all the time, so you need the most transparent one.

I like the smart gate from MXR. I think there's something called the "decimator" you might check out.

Yeah the ISP is great, if you want something for a bit less money $100 will get you a Boss NS-2 which i use and i have no noise issues on any of my rigs.. dead silent and doesnt really affect sustain negatively.. if you get the NS-2 though make sure you get the ac-adapter as it will suck down batteries like theres no tomorrow..

+1 for the NS-2. While probably not as sexy as the ISP, I have had nothing but good luck with my NS-2.

I second the NS-2. They work great for me. I also have a Smartgate, and it seems more like a noise reduction than a gate. If you want dead silence when not playing, I'd go with the NS-2, or the Decimator.

I've owned the ns2, g string and mxr noise clamp and IMO they're all about the same to my ears. The noise clamp is what I currently own bc it's the most cost effective. They all measure the clean guitar signal to determine the when to turn on the gate/reduction of the loop.

i use and really like the MXR smartgate , plug into it like first in the chain, very natural sounding while killing any unwanted noise when you're not playing (i play p90s and single coil guitars atm), setting it first in the chain means you don't have to set the threshold as high

i think it's also one of the smallest noisegates you can find, small mxr enclosure, if space is an issue
