anything with EMG pickups....

+100!
I dont like them for leads, but for heavy riffage they dominate!!
Thats what i used for my heavy guitars in the studio for pulse. And live it also crushes!

the 335 would rule. please shot for higher goals that kroq. we both are old enough too remember knac and pirate radio. a little more on the cool scale. :D

Les Paul w/EMG 81/85 pups will do the trick. I have a Gibson Gothic LP with them and it's my go to guitar. Detuned or straight up, it kills. But it also sounds great on clean channels. Best of both worlds.

As a note, I have a PRS Custom24 w/EMG 81/85 pups and it does not sound as heavy. More mid-rangy than the LP. Kind of disproves the notion that EMG's make all guitars sound the same. Trust me, they don't.

Anderson H3 is the pickup used to design the Rectifier and sounds awesome with that amp, and is also great for drop tuning.

i like the H2+ better for E tuning, but if you're for sure gonna stay dropped then the H3 is ticket.

so a yea, guess i agree with the guys saying to put a pup in your LP.

lol Oh yeah. Though I do make mostly modern stuff because that's where the $ is at.

Les Paul ~ Jeff Beck Bridge ~ Tremoverb ~ Stack.

That was my main sound for years.

The active pick ups are just as good.
Just different.
