in light of scott on the cusp of receiving a eventide h3000,
i thought it fitting to discuss :D

personally it's a toss up between the boss se-50 i had, and the lexicon pcm 91 i use for live sound.
the boss manuals are originally written in japanese by the most boring engineers on the planet, and then transcribed verbatim by the most boring english translators on the planet. and there are like 50 pages dedicated to sysex commands...funny i can't seem to find my breath controller and my touch wheel has gone south...

the lexicon manuals are just plain insufficient. they never seem to divulge all the critical information you need in a clear and concise manner when you are digging in deep to program a preset, and there are only elevendyquintillion parameters hidden in layers per preset to manage which you somehow have to remember, and mentally retain the interactive relationships of, because you can only see one parameter at a time. spin. wander. mid rt. crossover. patching. chains. aaiieeeeee...!!!! their parameter and control descriptions are so vague is a crime. "let's make the manual easy to navigate by leaving things out!" it's engineer speak and user friendly readability gone horribly wrong.

but the worst i've seen in zachman's eventide h8000 fw. it's the size of a telephone book and like trying to learn how to pilot a chinese nuclear sub via morse code.

TC Electronic G-System, for me nothing else is even close!!!!

Now why would I want to change perfection messing with the Vai presets?

To date the worst I have had to deal with are the Lexicon MPX-1 and SDX-330, the 330 manual I am thinking was an afterthought as they were all saying in the board room that everyone would just nail up the SDD-330 and be done with it

The eventide stomp manual, more like booklet of back patting and ass slapping over the eventide name, is so vague that someone needs ADD medication quickly. Those pedals should have an age and minimum school level requirements.

Probably for a Jackson SL-1 when the opening statement said it was the best guitar in the world and the last guitar I'd ever need to buy.

Boss GT-8...sold it, was so damn confusing. GT-10 is light years better.

snotrockets!!!

....bro not cool when i'm drinking my coffee!!

"...we hold fast to the allegations that we here at eventidehave accumulated the finest collection of pristine studio quality algorhythms known to this quadrant of the galaxy, and we should know, being that we are undisputed industry leaders at the height of our superpowers. our chief engineer has oversampled 33phi gb/sec golden ratio resolution on octagon roswell chips and has achieved sonic levitation, babysitting einstein whilst time travelling..."

now pull out your scientific calculators, navigation protractors, and plumb levels and lets start programming!

They should just lock the Vai presets, and you can choose between them. No tweaking, just take what Steve gives you. No manual necessary other than an egyptian pictogram with in/out wiring.

I'll agree with SE-50, SDE-330, etc.

But, I'll be damned if the Boss RC-2 Looper isn't one of the most confusing little manuals I've ever dealt with.

Do manuals for universal remotes count? Goddamn those things are ridiculous...

I usually dont read manuals...

I bought a g-major from a guy on this forum (who will remain nameless) and the dude didn't bother to tell me the manual had 5 or 6 different languages in it....except for ENGLISH  Dick

Anything by Roland.

hehe yep, I remember helping my buddy with his VS-880 or whatever the hell it was. What a pain in the ass just to record a track. At least that was my impression at the time.

My Dad's old TEAC 244 was a breeze compared to it.

The manual for TC Electronics G-System and G- Major. Not very in depth.

Suhr PT100 manual, even the title was wrong it said OD100 and it did not cover half the features on the amp...
