Like Chub said, if you could get ACTUAL Plexi, Boogie, EVH, Diezel, Splawn, Friedman, etc. Tone and volume from something that clipped onto your belt and ran off a 9V battery would you use that, or lug around the 65-85 lb. head?

I'd lug around the big stuff because I need the exercise.
Time to get you up to speed. The new thing isnt to lug it around. But rather take it on a Sunday Drive.
My Toaster amp loves to go to Sonics for a Milk shake.
Much more relaxing.

Man, that is NOT rock and roll! Sonics is SO EMO.

Some of us like multi-use devices, although I'm holding out for the waffle irons next year.

It's a tool to generate tone. I don't think my Snap On socket wrench is particularly attractive, but it does its job well. I care what my guitar looks like. My amp, my pedals, my cord, my pick, not so much.

I gotcha...Like I said...not trying to be negative, I just don't like the looks. I am superficial when It comes to gear I guess...looks do play a roll in my purchasing for the most part. Funny how I wouldn't consider buying a TC Hall of Fame, but the black Trinity from proguitarshop I would buy. Technically the same pedal just different paint and a couple different presets.
i just had to go look up that trinity pedal....just had to....now i want it....i feel you are responsible for at least half of the cost of this pedal due to the amount of gas you have caused. :D

Proguitarshop always gives me gas....Andy makes everything sound cool.

Country Emo
Alt country
emo
indie
emo indie etc. ;)

Blame it on the hipsters.
More of these bands are making more music.
More companies are making more amps. Supply and demand.

Now you mention it....the amp does wear skinny jeans when we go to sonics.
Never put the two together but makes sense.

Believe it or not, every one who plays guitar does not need/want 100 watt stack. I like the mini heads. I don't play all that loud. I'd rather run a 20 want amp on 4 than 100 watt amp on 1

I had an Orange Tiny Terror for quite a while to use as a recording head, and it sounded good. It didn't bother the family when I used it, not that that mattered that much. Who's paying the freaking mortgage? I'm sorry you can't hear "The Wizards of Waverly Place" that well, Dad needs to rock. :)

But anyway, I want an amp I can record with at midnight and not bug the neighbors, let alone my family, so I had the Tiny Terror. One day I turned it on to a good volume for it to make it sound good and then turned the master on my JCM800 down to match its level for recording. The Marshall smoked it. Bye bye Tiny Terror.

I am not trying to be too negative :D , but if I want to toast some bread I'll buy Hamilton Beach....not Suhr, Bogner, etc?

I just don't get the design...that is all, Whether they sound killer or not
Yep agreed, a toaster does not look anywhere near as Rock n Roll on stage as a halfstack!

Sure.

And black backline doesn't have any business in someone's living room or bedroom.

Argument goes both ways.

If there's one thing that drives me a bit nuts, it's these youtube clips of 100W+ heads with matching 4x12 cabs doing sound demos where you STILL HEAR THE STRINGS GETTING STRUMMED. People, seriously, WTF!?!?! And then their description goes on about how "tight the low-end stays when dimed" and "really blooms past noon" and all this shit. Dude, You don't even need to run the 4 powervalves in the back!! You got all the volume you need with that 12AX7 in the PI slot!!

Just sayin'

Its all about the user for sure!
I play live with a drummer every week...toaster?? Toss it in the trash for my needs.....
Full stack? Oh yess...... two 4x12's......ripping my face off.......yeah....thats the stuff!
But everything is situational...... ;)
