What's with the Fractal countdown?

I've been saying for the last year that they should come out with some sort of floor board unit, like a PODHD500. But with just the best parts of the AxeFx and keep the price under $1,000.

There's a part of me that hopes they do some sort of fx only unit. I'd be on board for that.

This. I like my HD500 but a fractal unit would be killer! I don't think it'll happen though.
An effects-only unit would be cool and is probably more likely, but not really all that special. I mean there are already amazing units out there by TC and Eventide.

Fractal's standout strength is their amp modeling and direct recording quality of the amp models. IMO they should make a floorboard or an even more stripped down rack modeler for at under 1G like you said.

Mehhh...I personally think it has good potential of having some backlash. That kind of thing happened a lot in the 3D animation software industry, a lot of hype.... not much came out in the wash. I read a post on TGP about a betting pool so maybe it's about some people in the know the having some fun with all the people speculating.

I have a standard that works very well for my situation and I don't think it's a completely new unit that makes the old ones obsolete so I'm personally not that hyped up about it. IMHO a completely reworked more powerful AxeFX would be the only thing worthy of all the hub bub. If it's that then I'll be very interested.

It is a countdown to when all Axe FX's will explode at the exact same time. But it will be the best sounding explosion of all time ever and will replace all other explosions so it will be still be cool.

very true, I don't think that many men would ditch their Eventide or TC Electronics effect units which are so well known in the industry for an Axe-Fx all effects unit. I know many men, not on forums, who only had the unit for the effects AND amp models but preferred the effects from their Eventide or G-Force units, they have their own unique voice. The Axe-Fx has the higher quality amp simulator thing going on so I would assume they would just stay in that area. A nice reasonably priced desktop unit or software version would be nice but maybe the only news is that all the amp models and effects will be updated to sound more realer.

And at which the amp models will become more realistic than the actual amplifiers they are modeling, causing a paradox which will cause many men's members to explode while playing with said unit.

As like many men, I have the Ultra, and only sold off my Eventide ModFactor. I've kept the TimeFactor and PitchFactor, along with my OCD, Clyde Deluxe, BB Pre, Mk.4:23, and Muff Pi w/TW. Those are my kepers, even though I have the Ultra. The Pitch and Time are great with or without the Ultra, and in the case of my 20thA, the sound terrific alone with that amp.

I doubt it's a brand new unit. I think it's something to do with a) Axe-Edit and Axe-Manage, b) an FX only unit, c) some floor model system.

I just can't see it being a brand new unit... Not yet anyway.
