It's missing some internals... Look at the amp with the head shell off. ;)

All mine have that extra little black box, (I don't build amps so I don't know what it is), near the preamp tubes.

Thats the Choke.....his doesn't have one??

Mine's are inside the chassis as is seen in the pics on Ebay

Level knob missing and plugged, as is Slave out. Strap is missing from caps in pic 8. Sprague cap is bulging, as noted. Says "Barely Used" then says "Used for 18 months" ... the list goes on... Can't remember if original SLO came with 6L6 or 5881...

Not sure what kind of variations Mike would have done in the early 90's. I would think there would be a level knob in back along with a slave out plug, but maybe this model wasn't meant to have it for some reason. Looks fine to me all in all, although the price is brutal. As for the year, it could have sat in a store for a while. And that's quite the "practice amp" to have lol. I can't imagine anything at the time being a better amp to gig with, that would render this one the "practice amp" hehe

any owners of say a 1993 SLO the serial numbers should be in the 800 to 900 range not 1074. 1074 makes sense makes sense for a 95 but then the number would start with 95... this serial number does not add up. I have seen this before. someone tried to sell me a stolen SLO with an altered serial number years ago.

Yeah, that would mean they were kicking out well over 250 amps a year since 88/89. Would be hard out of a two man shop running a start-up company.

ya know what. I have given this some more thought. the only possible explanation is that possibly between 1992 and 1993 Soldano was producing alot of the SM100 and or X88 as they share the same lineage with regard to serial numbering., meaning they are all from the same sequence thus I suppose it is possible that this is correct. my 92 was 746 and I know for sure they did not make 300 plus SLO's from 1992 to 1993.. more like 50 to 100.... maybe the rack craze explains this if so I am sorry for the late night wolf cry..

maybe I am just paranoid because of my previous experience and jumped the gun to call foul.. curious who has a 1993 or 1994 what is the number following the 93 or 94

who has a 2010 or so SLO what is the number now. about 2000

I would think that if it were stolen the seller would not have posted pictures of the serial number to avoid any suspicion, whether the number has been altered or not.

yeah and not just amps but SLO/ X88 or SM100. none of the other amps use this serial pattern. only the amps with the lifetime transferable warranty. Again..... the rack thing may explain this spike from 1992 to 1993. (still doubtful) If it does, my apologies once more..

who's got a 1994?

man, you would be good at picking fly shit out of pepper.

He will lower his standards soon. It looks legit to me. At least as an early one. Does it matter if its 93 or 95?

Doesn't matter. He should be explaining the plugged line out hole and the level pot being plugged though on the ad.

Only you would know that David....

So what's wrong with it? I'm too lazy to read the whole thread.
