It can be a clean boost, overdrive or distortion pedal. How do you use it in your rig and what do you like about it?

I'll go first... I gotta say my LordOVchaoS modded Boss SD-1. I use it as an low gain od tone into the clean channel of my amp and I boost it with a Bad Monkey to get a more mid gain tone. I also use it as a clean boost (Level - dimed, Drive - zero) into the dirty channel of my amp to send it into high gain sustain territory. It excels at everything. I think that pedal and a Power Screamer would keep me in boost bliss for a long time.

I've heard nothing but good things about his work. Out of what I've tried I'd say my Keeley SD-1

my fav is a Plank Kranker!

I also have an old standby Keeley Modded SD-1, which I highly recommend

I've been really digging my OCD lately. It took me a while to bond with it but it works great for low-mid gain OD and as a reasonably clean boost. The plank crank works well to but I'm very excited to try out the MI-Audio Crunch Box and Tube Zone next week-end. I'll definitely post a review on the two.

My BBE Green Screamer is my favorite, Fulltone OCD (thanks to Kage), and DOD YJM308 is awesome to for a cheap pedal...BBE takes the cake though for my stuff....kinda thinking about adding a MI Audio Crunch Box sometime

I didn't think it was a big deal at first but the BB Preamp is my favorite. I'm sorry to say that i compared the BB to the PLank Cranker and it was no contest. BB won easily for what i wanted to hear.

BB Preamp + R2 Boogie Mark III Channel + delay in the loop = 80's tone of the GODS.

After much trial and error I have settled for the ones listed in my signature. The Menatone stuff is very nicely voiced and well made. The Keeley modified BD is really killer for leads and works well with the strat.

I've never met a pedal I didn't like for something or another. But my favorite distortion is Fetto...although it's highly dependent on what amp you run into and how the amp is set. But I think that's true of all pedals, some more than others. I've gone through a handful of OD's lately...SD-1, SD-9, BB, COT50, FD2, OCD, YJM, Tube Driver. I don't really think of any as better or worse, just different.

I've been using a Lovepedal Eternity that has an IC socketed chip, that you can swap out. Been trying out different chips and they sound great.
MI Blues Pro is the coolest cheap pedal i've ever had.

I'm on the Zen Drive list that should be soon....

My two fave pedals right now are a baja boost (sort of a rangemaster type) and Skreddy Pink Flesh, which is really a fuzz pedal. Both are great, the Baja surprisingly so.

I do have a Radial Tonebone Hot British on the way though, I understand that with a good tube those things are killer.
