I'm looking to get one. Checking out Mesa, Bogner, Marshall, and a few others.

What's in YOUR rig? :)

I have
-a Hughes & Kettner Triamp 4x12 (Greenbacks)
-a Bogner Slant 4x12 (G12H/V30 X Pattern)
-a Marshall '73 straight 4x12 (Greybacks)

The Marshall is the best by far, and that means for all styles, clean and crunch anyways, but even Metal (unless you play at earbleeding volumes).

Try to find an old Marshall, or if you want new and are in the US, I would go for Scumbacks Cab & Speakers.

Tie between Bogner and Mills.

I think Mesa cabs sound best with Mesa amps, and they're hit and miss with other amps. The Boggy and Mills sound great with everything (that I've tried anyways).

Worst cab ever is a Yorkville 4x12 some geek I knew had. Wouldn't be surprised if the thing was made out of hard molded plastic as it sounded like it.

Krank Revolution Cab.
I love the tone of the solid poplar. Sounds huge.

Only had a peavey 412M and my current Mesa halfback 412. I love the mesa, great cab. Sounds good with all my amps, which is nice (can't say this about any of my 112 or 212 cabs). It is very heavy though.

Right now I like all 3 of my cabs but the VHT sounds amazing with my 5152.

marshall 4x12 greenbacks
marshall 4x12 75's
peavey 5150

i like the marshall with 75's the best overall. the speakers are well broken in and sound great for all styles.

mesa halfback's are the bomb. mine has the emi ms12's.sounds awesome. also love them with mc90's and ev12's.

I've been thrilled with a Vader 212 for my primary amplifier, an Ampeg VH140C, so tomorrow I'm getting a 412 via Craigslist. I had previously used it with a Dual Recto cabinet, which was too bland. However, a 5150 sounded much better with the Dual Recto 412 than the Vader 212. So, it depends on the amplifier, IMO. There's not going to be a universal favorite cabinet for me.

Old worn in Marshall's with broken in Greenbacks are the best sounding cabs I've usually run across. The Marshall Handwired cabs with the Heritage speaker sound awesome. There's plenty of great sounding cabs from Mesa, Bogner, Scumback, Port City, etc, that you should be able to find whatever it is you are looking for.

Old Rivera cabinets can sometimes be found for a decent price, and they are really nice.

I`m on my 2nd 4x12. The first was a K412, and now I have a Luke/Bonehead 412 with 2 MC90s and 2 GT12s.

It`s a very solid sounding cab.

Avatar Vintage 4x12 with G12-K100's.

Perfect for my taste.

Have owned a lot of great cabs (Diezels, Marshalls, ENGL's, Voodoo (this one is right up there too), Mesa's, Bogners, etc, etc.

I will take my Avatar (actually have 2) over all them.

I'm into rock tone.

Tim Mahoney
Dave Navarro
Ian Thornley
Hum
Pumpkins

Figure V30's is what I want. Gonna wire up some of Zinky's 12's this weekend to see if it brings the goods for me. Two of them is close, but not the cigar.

There's something just RIGHT about 4 V30's for clean and dirty. There's an edge to them...

Port City 4x12

Port city by far!! I've had Mesa,Krank, and bogner among others and the PC takes em all. Matter of fact I was playing through the Marshall the other day and switched the DSL over to the PC and it was literally like night and day.

Emperor

1. sounds better than anything else I've heard
2. Price was very reasonable.
3. Feels VERY solid without being too heavy
4. Looks awesome, and completely different from anything else.
5. Street Cred
6. etc.

favorite in order from most favorite to lowest

orange 400 watt cab
splawn with the small block eminence
mesa - traditional with v30s
hughes n kettner vortex cab with the rock driver jrs (by the way the best giging cab due to light weight and great sound- I may not prefer this cab over the others listed before but on the used market this is the best cab and I recommend it over all others based on cost and weight
avatar contemorary with x-pattern v-30 and 75s
ampeg guitar center cab - must note this cuz the cab with original crappy speakers is crappy, but replace the speakers and you have a nice cab ampeg does not claim this particular cab as they state that it was a propritary build for GC when they blew these out the door for 299 new
univox -1-15 cab (really cool) vintage unit
KJL club owner cab shared baffle but uses a 12 and 10 inch celestion

i think that is it I may have some other gear floating around

The sewers are muddied with a thousand lonely suicides.

All my cabs are Marshall, and the best one is a '73 with 55hz blackbacks.
