Gotta find a scaled down rig for some smaller clubs, am looking at small watt heads and thought maybe I should be looking at combos as well. Any suggestions besides Buddah? RVS has me all fired up about those already

Can't go wrong with the Budda. Marshally goodness with a great MV.

Yeah--need more details:

Pure Tube?
Hybrid?
Modeling?

What are the really important features you need?

i know u said small but the 50w Soldano 44 1x12 combo? ive read nothing but top reviews on it....im a SLO user and i am considering this amp for a number of small gigs i play quite frequently and also for the gigs with alot of stairs and hallways ect.....

Played a gig last night with one of my bands and the other guitar player brought out his egnater tweaker 40 head and cab that I hadn't heard and used his tele. Sat perfectly in the mix and this band is definitely classic rock/hard rock type of thing. I was impressed :)

Marshall 1974x handwired and tube screamer. Hard to beat. I have 3 of them.

Buddah???

What's a Buddah? :D

Bring your favorite OD pedal and try one of these. Also, I think the Egnater Renegade combo is cool although it's a little on the smooth side.

Modeling - not at this time ;)
Tube would be nice unless there is a killer solid state alternative. Was looking at the Retro channel Retro Wreck but not sure it would work for me.

Needs a loop, 2 channels crunch and crunchier, semi cleanup on the dirty channel, don't need sparkly cleans on this setup.

Looking at the JCA22h but not sure that is going to have enough volume to compete with the other guitarist in the band.

I'll second that....

Best combo amps that I've owned (with an effects loop and a master volume) in no order...
Peters Polaris 1x12 combo
Budda SD18 II 1x12 combo
Mesa Electra Dyne 1x12 combo
Carvin Legacy 2x12 combo

^^^This--tone that owns like no other...

Hughes & Kettner Edition Tube 25th Anniversary... and a modest pedal board. I've mentioned it before, but the guitar player for a local cover band plays this setup and kills with it.

20W All Tube, 2 Channel, 2xEL84, 2x12AX7, Accutronics Spring Reverb, Celestion G12T-100 and footswitch. Grab, go, crank...
