Musicians keep needing stuff man, I just bought some Vdrums, a new Edwards, not so long ago a new acoustic, a mic, midi footwitch, strings, capo, etc etc....

and when you think you're all set I'm gasing an Axe Fx (which I'll by of course :D) but it doesn't end there, I "need" a 4 space rack and a ART SL-2 poweramp to make it a full on independent rig.

but wait.....I KNOW before the year ends I'm getting a Mackie Controller for Logic.....

this sucks man, it's a disease! HEEEEELP!

at least I'm not taking money out of my living budget, nor my life savings for this.

  Vicious cycle, man! VERY profitable industry, just look at FENDER!

As long as you are on here or any other forum, I say never :D

If not amps its guitars, then maybe fx and pedals, then back to amps, never ending cycle

It a sickness that just keeps on going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going...

...and going and going and going and going and goingggggggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're all sick man.

I keep telling myself to stay off these GAS generating forums. I was happy with my old ADA guitar gear since I didn't know what was out there, started with these forums at ADA Depot to get info on the gear, keeping it running, other ideas on how to use it etc. Then some shmuck posts about Axe-Fx, then I'm thinking, "what is this Axe-Fx of which you speak?" Next thing I know, I have an Ultra, and looking at active FRFR systems and selling nearly all my ADA gear.

Of course, the Ultra's gone for months, and I'm still buying and selling gear....and after nearly 20 years of being a rack user, I'm buying pedals again!!!? WTF? :scared:

I need to stay off these forums for about 3-6 months so I have now time to play the gear I have before I see something else I want and sell/buy again....

I don't know......I get everything I need out of a Marshall 1/2 stack and a JMP-1 preamp and an Alesis Quadraverb BUT!!! ...I've gone through..60-70 amp heads..sometimes 2 or 3 even 4 times...Every TC product and some Lexicon and Eventide in the mix too. 3-4 semi truck loads of 4x12's,swapping speakers, cable guages etc,etc..onlt to make everything sound like.....yup...An Alesis quaraverb fed into a Marshall JMP-1 preamp that is fed into a Marshall 50 watt 2204 and 4x12 cab...I see no end in sight and I'm ok with it.... :D

All of the gear stuff is a hobby as well as the playing and writing music. Right now, I'm cool with my amps. That just means that I'm going to poke around in the effects area for a bit, maybe get a new guitar. I like to try things and I like to see where a new piece of gear takes me sonically.

Some people play golf, some people snort coke... I buy and sell amps and pedals.

Just when I think it is safe to go on the net.....Eventide Eclipse inbound. Not safe. What else.....I canceled the order for the ENGL Fireball. Too much Mesa Dual Recto in it which is sitting here unplayed. What did I do? Ordered a Splawn Nitro

FedEx dropped off my JMP-1 pre today. Sounds great, but based on what Kurt said in his post, I may need to consider a Alesis Quadraverb, or maybe a Midiverb, even though my Glass Nexus just arrived last week. Anyone interested in a Vox ToneLab LE?

I also got away from having an amp stack, but with the JMP-1 I started thinking Marshall EL34 100/100, which would mean 2 4x12s minimum...fighting Marshall stack GAS....

...and Steinberger Demon GAS...
  :aww:

I just picked this up swore it was all I needed and now I need a Marshall Super Bass as well as Recto rev C.

Steve

I found it by chance doing a google search with the term "Blueface VH4" and a CL add in Kansas City came up. I contacted the seller and 3500 bucks and 5 days later it was mine.

Its a 97, I also got a near mint 81 Silverburst as well you can see its headstock in the rack, I mention it since I see you have one in your sig.

I posted more info and pics in the Diezel forum.

Just saw the other post man. Congrats dude. Those feckers are hard to find. May just go electroplate mine blue to be cool too! Good price on it as well.

As for your other Q's over there....

AJ uses 34's in his VH4.

If you are Tool'in it, get something to complement the VH4, not another one. I have a Super Bass, but at normal gig volumes, it cannot be used. Usually the JCM800 or Uberschall pulls the double duty there.

Staying with Diezel, the Einy would work well or go for a Herbi. I have become a huge fan of the Elmwood M90 and have used it lately with the VH4.

The Blue Face's came with 6L6 tubes. You can swap them and rebias for 34's.

...and Steinberger Demon GAS...

Played a couple of their lower end line instruments a few days ago & didn't like neither the neck nor the way the instruments sounded. Still want to find that ZT3 Custom or whatever the hell it was & see what it's like. Keep in mind that I'm comparing them to some very good guitars, so FWIW.

WHEN IS THIS SHIT GONNA END!?!? F*CK!!

Joey,

People spend some big round figures to buy a car & there are many of them. What you spend on your gear is not that big of deal if you think. The only reason people bitch about it or get jealous over it is because it's not what everybody else does.

Do what you enjoy doing for as long as you can.

Tell me about it, I'm dead set on buying a Mark V soon but it seems that GAS is getting the best of me.
Now I want to spend the money to get another amp, guitar, rack gear, cab and the list goes on......

Must......resist.......GAS!!!!!!

Thanks for the info. I have a rackmount Recto so I am curious to see how that will sound with the VH4.

The Marshall Superbass is definatley on my next thing to buy list.
