The Rectalfier will sound like ass with the VH4 :jerkit: . The sizzle didn't do anything for me but get in the way of the Diezel.

As long as you are on here or any other forum, I say never :D

If not amps its guitars, then maybe fx and pedals, then back to amps, never ending cycle

A common progression:

STEP 1> "NAD!" post, often with pictures (sometimes even unpacking pictures). These posts often have comments about "not really trying it out too much yet"
STEP 2> "The Search For The Perfect Tone Has Ended"-type posting, often containing a clip and some sort of 'sounds-great-with-the-band' reference. (like a Jedi mind-trick, this exciting step sometimes makes other forum members actually purchase the same amp and duplicate the exact same cycle!)
STEP 3> "Anybody Try A _____?"-type post (about a different amp), usually asking specific questions about something their 'perfect' amp is missing.
STEP 4> "FS:_______" post, often using verbage such as "Hate to let it go".
STEP 5> "NAD!"

Bless us all!

I haven't had GAS since I don't know when. I've come to realize that I have a fantastic rig which sounds fabulous and I'm trying to get better tone from my fingers. :)

hahaha LOL! FLMAO!

duuude I'm dying here....I'm sig'ing that shit right NAO! :hys:

Man, I love you Tool dorks.

I traded in my pseudo-Adam rig (Herbert) for the AxeFx Ultra.

Granted, it looks no where near as cool as a half stack with a VH4 & Super Bass on top, but I've never gotten closer to the tone I need.

Dont have a Silverburst either... plain 'ol Standard will have to do.

Dude - where did you score the Blue Face VH4? Shit that is sweet. What year?

Steve

STEVE, DO IT, call dibs on that Blue Face, hurry!

we should rename the forum to "gearaholics". I am lucky I haven bought anything in over a year, but I would not mind having a jmp-1 preamp.

.... & half the time we tell ourselves we're going to sell some stuff to buy the new whatever-it-is.....and we end up just buying the new thing and keeping everything else. (who knows what I'd be doing with my closet space?!)

Hahaha that is definitely sig worthy material, I'm sure all of us go through those 5 steps sooner or later, some more than others, including myself

I'm gassing for an Axe Fx, which I'll buy of course but it doesn't end there, I "need" a 4 space rack and a ART SL-2 poweramp to make it a full on independent rig.
The Art SLA 2 poweramp is a nice powerful 1 space amp, it should work very well with the Axe-Fx. I've got two of them myself, one I use in a three space rack with a Digitech GSP 1101 (to be replaced by an Axe-Fx in the near future) in a three space rack. It makes for a small, versatile and VERY powerful rig that works well in any room no matter how large or how small. The second one I use as the stereo "wet" amp in my W/D/W Boogie rig.

it never ends. i've been pretty good about curbing my gas the last few months and watching where my money's going. however there were a couple of deals that i couldn't pass up.
i've always loved the tones some guys get from thier w/d/w rigs and was looking for a pre amp that could get me there without breaking the bank. that's when i stumbled across an old rocktron pro gap. i've been able to dial in some pretty nice tones using the gap into a carvin x 60b through a marshall bottom. i'll add my yamaha g 100 210 when i want to add wet to the mix. the only problem is one of the bass layers i get together with says he wants me to settle on one rig to use. i've been trying different rigs and can coax good tones out of them. i just like to mix it up a bit. it keeps things from getting boring and predictable.
