Do it and get rid of those shitty ohms plugs too ...![]()

No ... This : https://www.ebay.com/itm/IMPEDANCE-SELEC ... 23223bfa13
It's an easy fix for a good tech, they have to slightly widen the hole.

What's the benefit of the new impedance selector switch?

This is the one, and I need to get 6, right?

Yup the 50uF+50uF @ 500vdc are good caps and perfect for your amp6 of them is correct.
Don't forget to drain the voltage off the caps before doing any work. Best way is to take a resistor, something like a 100k @ 5watt. Hook one leg of the resistor to the mains filter cap positive (+) terminal, and hook the other resistor leg to ground. Make sure you use some insulated crocodile clips for this, so you don't get zapped.
The resistor will slow the draining process down a little bit, so you don't get a big spark. Might take a couple of minutes for the voltage to drain from the caps to ground, and then you're good. Always double check with a multimeter to be safe.

If the amp was modded , wouldn't the tech who did the mod have noticed the old caps or gave the option of replacement?Jofipe":3pkdwpvv said:So, I changed the caps to F&T 50/50 500V today, and MAN did that make a difference! It opened allot and it sound allot sweeter and more transparent.
I'm just a bit puzzled by the cap to the top left with the white ring around. It doesn't have anything bridging the two + poles. Can that be right?

Thanks allot for all the info! This was my first cap change, and it was fun!
Jofipe":2nz6iug4 said:Oh I guess so, but maybe the person who had it modded initially wanted to save a bit of cash... bad place to save tho.
It sound monstrous now!! Just like the Killer Kali doesI'm actually thinking about changing to f&t's in that one also now

Wanted to ask... Three of the caps are still the orig. ones in your amp, do those matter "less" than the ones you changed?
