When Tom Morello tries to play with real guitarists...

I think it's nice of them to include the mentally challenged.

But seriously, you can look at it this way, a deaf man would be thrilled to hear him play.

TM has a show on SiriusXM. He played one of his solo tunes where he played on a Nylon String Guitar and it was total Shred. However, it was so obvious to me that it was completely edited and sped up shred speed..

Shit, I did that for a recording class in the early 90's. I can't play Piano, but I can shred a blazzing solo on a recording if I can record it one note at a time at a slow ass speed. I think I still have it on Cassette.. LOL

Political prejudice is no different than religious or racial prejudice. It is really the same thing.

The people that indulge in it say more about themselves than anyone else.

First RATM was like “fuck you…I won’t do what they tell me!” Then Pfizer came along and they were all like “fuck you…. Do what they tell you!” RATM and their lead singer can suck it…can’t listen to any of their shit anymore. I don’t want some entertainer preaching their bullshit at me

Politics aside:
Turn the sound down….If you look at the way each guitarist holds his guitar and where it’s located. TM has his way up near his chest. Nuno and Vai low covering the wanker area.. Just looking at them makes me want to drop my strap lower- way cool like true western gunslingers…. I did it yesterday and I guess I’m Tom Morello. My joints don’t bend like that.?. I don’t want to be “that guy”

TM is kinda insulting if you think about it. The rest of the guys up on stage have practiced all day for years to be as good as they are. They live and breath guitar. From the sounds of it TM is one of those DEI musicians. Didn't put the effort in but somehow is a famous guitar player.

I did see the Daily Show yesterday. The first one with Jon Stewart back. I found it entertaining.

My political views have been the same for all my life. I don't like over authoritarian government anywhere in the world or history.

Rage made some good music. I never was interested in their subjective views.

I will always remember going to the Met in NYC when they had the guitars and amp tour. There was Jimmy Pages entire rig right next to EVHs rig and next to that was Tom Morellos rig. Nothing for nothing but that rig didnt belong anywhere near those other two.
Agree 100%!!

He is the DEI Rock Star.

He is the Yoko Ono of guitar players.
Sorry dude but this is a pretty dumbass statement. Think about it.....Yoko Ono contributed nothing to music. Morello may not be a blazing lead player, but he was an important part of 2 pretty popular bands. RATM and Audioslave.
Whether you like his playing or not, those are the facts.
I'm not a huge Morello fan, and he's clearly in way above his head playing with Nuno and Vai. As would 99% of the guys on this forum.
But he has had just a little success....and that can't be denied.

You are missing the point, which is not surprising, since you are obviously one of the brainwashed masses.

He is not there because of his talent.

i didnt know dei was a thing 35 years ago when they came out :dunno: i thought it was cause of all those catchy zep style grooving riffs combined with his not yet heard solo techniques and hiphop sense that fans of many different genres could all enjoy. if anything he helped get rid of the spandex bands on mtv which he should be praised for

So you are saying that he became famous for following a catchy bass line, I guess I can agree with that.

But now, he's just a pathetic DEI plant.

I was never really a fan of him, but his success I think more so came from his riffs/musical ideas and some interesting sounds he had. That tends to go a much longer way than how well one plays guitar whether we like it or not. I think most guitar heroes that were successful for similar reasons (including Hendrix), but of course did that at a much higher level. Lots of non-famous guys can technically play guitar much better than all these guitar heroes, but have no creativity, so at best they’re a YouTube star or can win some competitions

I can't wait to see Johnny Ramones and Steve Jones guitar rig next to EVH's rig.
