Separate the art from the artist and all that. I like RATM. My band covered them extensively. I also like Audioslave's first 2 albums a lot. It'd be better if they would just shut up and play.
I'll say this. Morello is a far better guitar player than Billie Joe Armstrong or Neil Young. And a better guitar player than Roger Waters is a bassist.

Those dj type sound effects always reminded me of when I first started playing guitar, I’d make all kinds of distorted weird wiki-wiki noises like that so I never thought much of it or admired it.

I love his riffs and songs, but a hot take I have is that his "shreddy" solos are awful. Because of what he got famous for doing, it's sort of a novelty when he plays fast, but they are basically gibberish. As a '90s kid I kind of don't give a sh*t about solos anyway, but ugh.
