Dudes, dudes, there's no reason to fight over the internet. That's childish middle school stuff. We all need to calm down and be civil. We can all agree that Yngwie plays with soul, and that Tom Morello empirically sucks, regardless of his political affiliation.

Though I’m not surprised you’re finding yet another avenue to talk down to people as if their choice of what they play through actually makes them a better/worse musician……all the while lacking the confidence to post your own playing. What’s that thing ya’ll say, “So brave!”

My Jeep has no problem making the drive to New England and back each year. It’s 10 years old and outside of oil changes, I’ve only had to replace a failed oil sensor and worn tires.

It’s not often I interact with someone who claims to be an adult that insults everything like an angry 15 year old. You actually remind me a lot of that VonBomwhatever guy, he does the same thing, shits on everything and refuses to post clips.

Dude, the computer is front and center.
 
Here's the thing... it is "art". Is he a bag of endless licks? No. Is he technical? No. Does he have a unique style? Absolutely. Was he the first to really to the turn table on the geetar thing? Yes. That's his style and sound. He's unique. He breaks up that solo spot with something totally different and it sounded like him. Forget the fact that you have to play after Kotzen.. that's a lost battle for most.

As for comparisons, most noodling like this is totally for dudes. As I age, the song is what I care about most. Even Kirk smack it' wrote some great solos. In the context of their music is where the art lies and where the artist has value. Some guys cannot write for the song. Be it lead or rythm, they are vanilla. Morello is at least unique and has the back catalogue of music to prove it. Their stuff jams live. RATM is a powerhouse.
