Not a fan of his playing at all (he massively overdoes the chromatics and pinch harmonics, for instance...) but he is a very nice guy in person. Met him a few years ago at an airport and he was so friendly, bought me a beer and had a chat about metal!

Saw him last night with Priest. Weedily deedly at 110 mph. No feeling. No soul. Hey Zakk a melody of some kind would be nice. I was so relieved when they left the stage.

I saw Zakk several years ago when he was touring with Rob Zombie. I've never been his biggest fan, though I'm not a "hater". But I gotta say, his guitar solo (seemed like 20 minutes) was pretty amazing. Not in melodic content or memorable hooks, but I was impressed with his sheer stamina. He was a freakin machine! He's become an over-the-top characiture of himself with the whole drunken biker thing though. It's gotten really silly. I was skimming an article a while back at a magazine rack where he was going-on to the effect of "f#ck yeah, me and Jesus are like best buds" and goofy crap like that. It'd be nice to see him step away from the bottle and the biker antics for a while and just be the fresh-faced, cool, quiet, humble kid who once assumed the role of Randy and Jake 20-some years ago.
