Where in the chain to place the volume pedal?

I have a pedal board dedicated to "Front of Amp" only.

It has the Xotic RC, AC and BB Preamp.

It also has a Morley Bad Horsie II.

I want to add an Ernie Ball Volume Pedal to this chain.

I am not sure there is really a difference as to where I put this...first in line or last.

First in line is sort of like my volume pot on my guitar.

Last in line is a little different, but I am not sure if this is good or bad.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks

If it's placed after the gain it will act like a master volume. I use it in the loop myself. Guitar volume out front for tone and vol. ped in the loop acting like another master.

On this subject, please would somebody explain what the difference in use is between low and high impedance volume pedals are.
I have read that some volume pedals aren't good in the loop.

Help!

I never heard volume pedals classified as low or high impedance .
I can tell you that a morley alligator works great in the loop . Been using it for years

I also use a volume in the loop before my delays. Keeps stuff quiet & I still get delay trails

Try them out & see what works for you??

Well it depends on what you want the volume for. Pre drives it's like a guitar volume. Post like a master volume. Always before delays though. You should use a low impedance pedal after buffers. So the morley I believe is buffered.
