Just wanted to see if any of you guys might happen to know of anywhere I can find one of these old Gibson Explorer Pro guitars?

I've looked around a bit and haven't found anything. What do these typically sell for used anyways? I'd love to find one.

saw an older one for sale at a local vintage guitar show in Spartanburg, SC.

the show also comes to NC which is where i originally learned about it, but its only once a year.

they wanted a steeep price for it though dude.

and original flying V, first year gibson ever made one was around $100,000

had some vintage les pauls as well, REAL old ones. im not really a gibson dude but he wasnt lying.

i have a few pics of the show, if you want i can post up some pics.

if i remember correctly it was in the low 10's, high single digits.

there was an original 1957 fender strat for $25,000

ive got a pic of an 80's strat signed by gary moore that i saw there, and also some really bad ass washburns.

i also have a pic of a vintage 1968 marshall plexi. guy wanted an entire vintage full stack, vintage cabinets and all for $6,000.

should check it out. i think the next one is in november.

I've always wanted one of those as well. Kinda hard to track down.

I can't believe I never owned one. A figured trans black finish is my probably my favorite finish...and Explorers are possibly my favorite guitars. I'm hoping to score one for under $1500?

DUDE. Have you heard the news. Micheal Schmacher is coming out of retirement to replace Massa until he recovers from his crash. HOLY SHIT!

Yeah, I read about that a few hours ago. Massa is my favorite driver, and I really hope he comes back perfectly healthy and fit, but it is definitely exciting as hell that Schumi will be replacing him. Too bad the next race isn't until near the end of August. I want to see him in the F60 now! :D

That was my favorite Explorer, they are hard to find. The last one I saw was 3 years ago, it looked perfect until you sight down the neck, it had a slight twist. You could tell playing it. :aww: If you find one on the east coast, check the neck (I know you would anyway) ;)

Curious if anybody has played one & what the neck profile is closer to - a '59 roundback or '60 slim taper ?

Thanks !

An original explorer pro, is not a 1958, they has only been around for 10 or 15 years maybe $1500.00 at the most

Just watch Ebay. They are around and were made in the 90's? Should be able to get one for under $1500.

They were made starting in 2007.
They are pretty rare, and the idiots are trying to get top dollar for them due to small production numbers.
Probably around $1500 to $2000

that guitar show looks so sick. Wish we had something like that in California

there's maybe one on ebay right now? know there was a couple days ago.

also was/is an old 90's with a 25 1/2" scale.
