I'm thinking of getting a mxr line boost. Where would I put on my pedal board? After my riot? Or before?

I think it would depend on your other pedals and if any of them have buffers. If you are strictly using it as a boost, then it only depends on whether or not you want to boost your Riot. If you do, then put it before any drive pedal you want to boost.

yeah Im wanting to use it for leads. here's what I was thinking

guitar - wah - volume pedal- tuner-phase 90-riot-lineboost-tremolo-flanger-delay- amp

Looks pretty good, but you might want to try putting your volume pedal towards the end of the chain: After modulation, but before delay.

This way you maintain a consistent signal to your boost and riot, and by placing delay after the volume pedal, the delay "tails" will continue to trail off even when you cut the volume all the way off.

If you put your volume pedal before a drive/dist, it actually reduces the signal going to the drive pedal, similar to what rolling off your guitar's volume would do. With the volume placed as I suggested you will have full gain and only the volume will be affected.

woah! could that be why the riot has always been a little off sometimes to me? on my current board I plug right into the VP then into wah - phase 90- riot- and so on.

if I move the VP to the end before delay, the riot will have more to it? (life, juice haha) hope you understand what I mean

With the volume all the way up (toe down) your Riot should still sound good. What I am saying mainly is this:

If you want your volume pedal to be the equivalent of rolling down your guitar's volume knob so it gives you a "clean" tone, then place it after your wah.

If you want "full shred" at any volume (basically your VP will not effect or change level or distortion or feel, only lower or raise the volume of your effected signal) then place it after mods, but before delay/reverb.

Who knows, maybe the Riot just isn't for you, or maybe the feel of it will change if you try as I suggested.

Oh ok. I understand now. So it's not gonna ruin my tone either eat. Just does 2 different things.

Put boosts after wah, but before modulation or filters.

Put a line boost infront of a distortion/overdrive incase you want to boost your guitars signal into an overdrive rather than beefing it up afterwards.

Any particular reason you aren't running your delay and modulation in the loop?

Oh im running my delay in the loop. I prefer the modulation I have out front.

Ah, I see. About the boost, I agree with running it in front of the riot so you can give the riot an extra little push for lead sounds.

Exactly. Putting your VP before may change the Riot's tone/response a TINY bit because it is one more unit that your signal has to pass through before hitting the Riot's input, but yes for the most part it will sound the same.
