Which band has the longest "Awesome albums in a row" streak?

I've been spinning a new album the last few days by a band whose LAST album is pretty much my favourite of all time... and i'm a little let down. It got me thinking, what band has had the longest Awesome album in a row streak? (In your opinion of course). For me it's probably Pantera, starting with Cowboys From Hell and ending with The Great Southern Trendkill. So, that's 4 I guess. Anyone?
 
Easy for me....Metallica. That's 5 in a row, IMO of course.

Kill Em All
Ride the Lightening
Master of Puppets
And Justice for All
Black Album
 
Iron Maiden had about 7 in a row in the 80's.

Nobody will top what Rush has done! ...and are still doing. :worship:
 
TOOL. I think every album they've put out has been great, with my personal favorite being Lateralus. AIC had a pretty good streak going too IMO before Layne Staley kicked it.
 
Metallica had a streak of greats. 5 debut at #1. Never been done by anyone else.

I thought Aerosmith had a great opening run.

Alice in Chains had a decent string.

Rush ha a string of pretty good albums. The keyboard era had a bit of driftwood content. Although Subdivisions is one of my fav songs, and the one they opened the last concert I saw with.

GAH! How could I could have forgotten TOOL! (I play drums in a TOOL tribute, so.. shame on me! haha). Metallica had a really good streak. But, for me... there was always parts of those albums that I loved, then parts I didn't care for so much.
 
I would say 9 in a row by Judas Priest......

Starting with album #2 (Sad Wings of Destiny) and ending with album #10 (Defenders of the Faith).
 
Definately the first 5 metallica for me and maybe even add load because i liked alot of songs.

Maiden had a nice string of 7 albums in the 80s to fear of the dark.

Anthrax megadeth and testament had 4 good ones

Agreed.

I thought Presence was a great album just a bit ahead of it's time. Physical Graffiti gets to count as two.

I know there aren't a bunch of Dream Theater fans here, but

Awake
Falling in to Infinity
Scenes from a Memory
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
Train of Thought
Octavarium
Systematic Chaos.

I think those are all great albums.

Also can't rule out King's X either. I think everything they've done is great, with the exception of Black like Sunday, which was on Really good, not great. I think that's like 9 in a row until BLS.

Agreed ,,they lost me on painkiller in their defence the return of Rob Angel of Retribuition was great IMO.

I think the next one with Richie is gonna go back to the Screaming defenders style and be killer
 
I was never into them much before but the last 2 or 3 Foo Fighters are damn near perfect
Funny, I like JP starting at Painkiller & on through the Ripper years, lol
 
I think I have to go with Porcupine Tree, The Sky Moves Sideways through Fear of a Blank Planet, which is 7.
Dark Tranquillity has 7 too with The Gallery through Fiction, though some in there, (read: Haven) aren't as strong as the others.
 
Zep for sure. I think Dio had a good run. Megadeth had a good run.
