Original Floyd for me. Took the Gotohs off my Music Mans as well.

What did you like better about the original Floyds? Or what didn't you like about the Gotoh?

OFR with a FloydUpgrades brass block on it.

I think so too, the FU blocks are awesome. I have one on my old 80's Floyd Rose and it's great!

Gotoh Floyd and FU (Floyd Upgrades) trems if it's a 6-string. I really like my TRS PRO 7 bridges for my 7 strings. Every single one of them gets a Floyd Upgrades big block though.

EDIT: I also use GraphTech's LB63 Floyd in the event that I need synth/piezo sounds. Not to mention, it feels pretty good too. Big Blocks fit them as well.

Kahler Steeler, badass Floyd-style bridge. Really solid, and very toneful. I have one on my Anderson Drop Top. (see photo in the Anderson vs Suhr thread).

Second would be the Original Floyd Rose.

Not into the floating Floyds at all. I block it if it's free floating.
I like the ones in the Peavey Wolfgang that rest on the body. It has a brass block and the D-tuna (which I use a lot)

The Brass big blocks just seem to make the tone so much
bigger sounding, im putting brass big block on every floyde rose i own

Well I installed a German Floyd on a guitar with a brass block upgrade, and a Gotoh Floyd in another.

The German Floyd sounds pretty huge, but a big part of that is the oversize brass block. But I also had a few issues with it. The saddles rattled a little bit from touching the one next to it...had to tighten them down perfectly in place. Also, the break angle of the string coming off the saddle itself was a little sloppy and one string vibrated on the saddle and wasn't sitting down tight on the saddle due to the angle of the saddle. But other than that, it sounded giant and worked great and looked cool.

The Gotoh didn't have those little problems, which made it a bit easier to get set up and rolling. So I definitely dig that. Maybe an oversize brass block on the Gotoh will make it sound as big as the Floyd did.....we'll have to try that next time.

So I like them both, with the gotoh having fixed a couple of the small issues the German Floyd had. But there is also something about the original Floyd and just the way it looks....complete classic. Oh well, they're both great!!!

The one I had in my Wayne Rock Legend.

I think it was a German Original Floyd Rose, it was so smooth and felt incredibly solid, a lot better than the one on the U.S. Charvel San Dimas I had at the same time

The best floyd I have used is in my Hamer Diablo, a Hamer Schaller version. The main plate is very thick and has the best sustain of any floyd guitar I have and that would be 11 right now.

OK for everyone that posted about floyds in this thread, how many are floyd abusers that hold the guitar by the floyd and shake the shit out of it?? 3 octive pull-ups?
