Which Octave Pedal

I'm looking for the best octave pedal, but only need it to go have one octave up and down from what I'm playing. The problem I've noticed with the few I've played is they sound artificial. So, I want one that doesn't sound artificial and has good tracking. What do guys think? I heard the taurus dexter is good.

The best I've heard, for the lower octave, is the Foxrox Octron. It doesn't track perfectly, but it sounds very natural. The upper octave is some sort of diode clipping thing. For both up and down, the best that I've used is the EHX micropog

it depends on what kind of tones are you are after

For a lower octave, it's the octron, no contest, for me. It's analog and sounds a lot more natural. The upper octave tone you get with the octron is different from the others, you can't get a completely clean upper octave with the octron and it doesn't work perfectly everywhere on the neck. It's created using a high gain diode circuit rather than digital sampling

If you're looking for a sub octave, or an awesome fuzz octave lead tone, go with the octron. If you simply want a clean octave up and down, go with a pog or something

It doesn't seem like the octron will work for me if it adds fuzz to the upper octave. I also heard it's not as good for chordal stuff. The micro pog also doesn't seem like it's what I want because it's digital and I heard that the upper octaves can sound synth-like and artificial which I definitely don't want. The Taurus Dexter though still seems promising.

I have an Octron 2 and yes it adds fuzz to the upper octave and the tracking gets a little off on the lower octave depending on your pick attack and which PU you select (I have the best luck with neck PU). It sounds so nasty as hell in front of distortion with just the upper and lower. Great pedal! If you're looking for a cleaner upper octave the EHX stuff may be a better choice.
