Which of these would you consider more versatile?

I’m looking to purchase a a guitar that will be versatile enough to play hard rock, metal, blues and some fusion. I have narrow down my choices to the following:

Gibson Les Paul Axcess
Jackson PC1

I have tried both guitars and like them both equally. Unfortunately, I can only buy 1. Based on your experience and what I’m requiring, which one would you choose based on versatility?

I do, but want to add something different while getting the most versatility possible. The Gibson Axcess plays good and I have a couple of MotorCity 2nd degree blackbelts that I can throw in them. On the other hand, the PC1 also plays beautifully. And the sustainer is an added bonus. Decisions, decisions.....

Just realized that I posted on the wrong forum. Mods, please move this to the appropriate forum. Thanks.

haviing had an access I would go for the PC1. Way more versitle

I'd take the Les Paul Axcess ! Hey, it's what I use right now. Way more toneful than any Jackson IMHO and I'm not that sure the Jackson is more versatile.

Either easily can do what you want. They're pretty different guitars, though. Get the one that inspires you more; that is the one that will end up more versatile.

Pc1 all day for me. Great guitars. Had 2 of em.
Les Paul’s are cool. But not my thing.

Slow the roll on the Jackson comment...lol seriously, LPs are usually all very toneful I agree..but I've played some Soloists that would stay with and leave some LPs I've played behind in the tone Dept. They can be very thick, resonant and downright incredible sounding. Have not played a PC1 though.

Yeah, between those it's pretty much down to personal preference.

The Les Paul Custom Axcess is a beautiful guitar and sounds amazing with some upgraded pickups. The Sammy Boller videos are a selling point for me, I believe he has Motor City Hotheads in his Axcess

Lots of positives for both guitars. I've had both.

How often would you use the sustainer? It is a neat feature, no question.
How do you like the glossy neck on the Les Paul?

I have 4 CS strats with Floyds now because it is something that I am most comfortable playing.
That being said, I would love another Les Paul Axcess but I'd want a modern version with the volute behind the headstock for some extra protection.

The neck would be the difference for me. Honestly I have not played an Axcess, so I can't really comment directly. I have a USA Soloist that I love and three Gibson LP's. They are different guitars. If you want a Floyd and a single cut, I love my ESP Eclipse. Personally I think it out does my Gibsons and Jacksons. I had a Fernandez with a sustainer, but I didn't get a whole lot of use out of it after the honeymoon. I don't think it is as useful as you think it is until you have one. IMO YMMV.

Which neck profile do you prefer? How do you want it to fit and balance on you? At that price, you COULD get a decent custom build, or damn close.

Think about it.

Personally I would recommend an ESP Eclipse. Nice road down the middle.
