 all fixed, sorry
:D   well in my opinion...i've owned a lot of ibanez guitars and sold them all...need to sale my ibanez js1200 but just haven't yet....i like ibanez but i end up getting rid of them after awhile...schecter....i regret having sold the one i had...i really like most all the schecters i've tried...however i'm not a fan of the xiphos body shape or the shecter V shape...but if it rocks your world then by all means go for it...but schecter gets my vote...however the neck will more than likely be a good bit beefier on the schecter

I have the 7-string version of the Xiphos and I LOVE it. It is a bit neck heavy but I adapted really fast. Some have even gone as far as relocating a strap button to balance it out but it wasn't worth it to me. The 6-string version may be balanced a little better as the neck will be lighter.

I have a UV777BK that I haven't played in several months because the Xiphos feels, sounds, and plays better.

I also loaded it with Duncan Blackouts which made one HELL of a difference!

Hope this helps.

can you compare the blackouts to the emg 81? always been real curious about the duncans.
was actually thinking of loading the bridge on the ibanez with my duncan distortion .

I have two guitars with 81's in them and I don't play them anymore either

The Xiphos is the perfect guitar for me and the Blackouts are the perfect pickups.

The Blackouts ARE colorful, they color your tone more than any pickup I've ever played. BUT, I find it to be a good color. They have a SICK low-mid snarl, tight punchy bass, and smooth highs. The highs alone kick the shit out of 81's, this is where I feel EMG's lack. EMG's sound brittle on the top end IMO. Blackouts are extremely aggressive sounding but also clean up well when the volume is turned down. They're also so high output that I don't use a boost anymore. It's like having a tubescreamer built in to the guitar that doesn't suck bass or add honky mids.

I had a Xiphos for 15 minutes. Why??? I liked it everything about it except the fact that the neck dove to the ground. From what I read moving the bottome strap button fixes this. Other than that it's an incredible guitar for the money.

Tis true, I won't lie. I haven't moved the strap because it took me all of a half an hour to learn to hold the neck up and play at the same time

I'd go with the Schecter. I have Ibanez and Schecter 7 strings, and I much prefer the Schecter. Of the 2 you listed, the mahogany body and fixed bridge would have me leaning toward the Schecter.

if the ibanez came in fixed bridge i think it would guarantee i would have to take a chance on it . just to check it out for something different. if i got it i would have to spend another $60 on a trem-no. and probably put 12-56s on it. to hold the drop B flat tuning i am using. i dont think 11-54 would quite do.

I once owned both an RG and C-1 at the same time.

I still have the C-1.

I feel like Schecters are more bang for your buck than Ibanez.

But that aside.
I would still go with the Schecter. You'll have to upgrade the pick ups in the Ibby. While the Schecter has the 89 in the neck (which is an 85 tappable to an SA) so it'd probably be more versatile as well.

Plus on a looks aspect I think the Schecter wins as well.
I really don't see any reason not to get the Schecter over the Ibanez.

i think after some of the conversation either way i have to try blackouts. i have been so curious about them for a while. so it leaves me having to change at least the bridge pup either way. does anyone know if they shipped the schecters yet? origionally i wanted to get a black V and a single pup "devil spine" i called GC and they havn't seen them yet.
