I am not playing in a band anytime in the near future and want to sell one amp.
Considering selling either
Marshall 6100LM 30th anniversary head - 5881/6L6 version
or
Splawn Modded 100w Marshall Plexi reissue - EL34 equipped

I am thinking ditch the 6100 as I could always buy one later, while the Splawn modded Plexi is much harder to come buy and could be considered rare. Both sound great and have the functionality I need.

I am torn. What say ye??

Which one would bring the most cash on a sale now? If the difference is negligible, I'd keep the Plexi. If you can get a lot more for the Plexi, I'd consider selling it, instead. I say 'consider' because "much harder to come buy and could be considered rare" sounds like you are already leaning more towards keeping it. Selling it might lead to a  moment for you in the future.

I would sell the Marshall 6100LM since it is stock and keep the Splawn since it is mod'd unless the Mod isnt working for you.

It is easier to find a stock Marshall amp than a Mod'd Splawn…. I think.

I have decided on the 6100. While they both sound great, I think I would just regret letting the Plexi go. I searched guitarcenter used gear and there are a few 6100LM's there for less than a grand. If I want to pick one up later, I am sure I could. I could not say the same for the Splawn. Either way, I am left with a killer Marshall, and have some cash. Not bad.

Hey just curious, what Plexi Reissue do you have? I have a Splawn-Modded 1959SLP Reissue that was made in 2003. It is now a Friedman-Mod.

Not sure about the year but it is a 1959 SLP reissue that came stock with the effects loop. Not sure exactly what was done as I bought it used. Has the clean channel, gain channel, lead volume boost, and foot-switch. Effects loop works pretty well too. Sounds great loud, sounds great not loud (although I, like many of us, prefer loud!)

prices on the 6100 have really went up the past year. besides, lot more can go wrong with those.

I agree on both points. I practically stole the 6100 from where I bought it. It sat forever and they had a used gear sale =good deal for me. I have also heard of the midi board frying, this amp does put out a ton of heat! Can't be good for long term success but it has served me well.

Good choice !
I had a splawn modded '59 kt88 , mercury mag and the very first 3 gear knob scott put on as a bonus .
I absolutely had to sell it to pay bills and my band broke up . I will regret that the rest of my life ..
