Anyone have a Whirlwind Orange Box phasor? I currently have a MXR EVH phase 90, which I like. I run it on script mode 90% of the time. I have heard the Orange Box is an upgrade and it has true bypass which for me is plus. Is it worth the change?

I should mention the bypass on the EVH phase 90 is fine, haven't heard it affecting my tone. I have read that MXR pedals bypass is poor though. I generally run a buffered Korg DT-10 early in the pedal chain to drive the signal, so I prefer my pedals are TB, so I can put the buffers in as I need them.

I have one & absolutely love it! Made me get rid of my EVH, which I really liked, but this is a definite step up. Not as noisy, better bypass and more lush than the MXR.

+!
Very rich and organic...it just adds great texture. Great phaser, particularly for the money!

I have one..it's the best variant of the Phase 90 i have ever tried! better than the dunlop Block, and the evh in my opinion..

They r made by the 0riginal dude wh0 designed and made the mxr, and are made in ny usa als0. Tried their dist0rti0n plus versi0n 0ut and liked it better then mxr.

Joe, seriously please stop with the O and 0 thing. It makes your post hard on the eyes, and it is just silly.

Sounds like this Orange box is the real deal. Found a used on TGP and they wanted the same price as a new one from Sweetwater, WTF???

HAHA, i just posted a video comparing the Orange box's phase sound to the Eventide Modfactors phase. From what i can hear so far there's no contest. Eventide, Fractal, Line 6...........why can't they get their phase to sound deep and lush without it sounding fake?

I dont dig it either, its not on purpose really, just that the o key on one of my laptops is broken and I dont feel like sending it back for warranty repair work again for something so small

Finally picked up an Orange box phasor. I really like it, compared to the EVH phase 90 it sounds smoother and is a little less pronounced. The EVH phase 90 seems to add some distortion to the phase sound in both modes, even more is added in the block mode. When I took the EVH phase 90 out of my pedal chain, I noticed a slight inprovement in tone.

Very happy with the orange box phasor, for the small cost of the change, it was worth it.

I like enough, that is has be considering getting Whirlwinds version of the dyna comp.
