Anyone know exactly (as much of the chain as possible anyway) what he used on "Little Fighter"? There's a certain squawk to the mids that I like, sort of a soft, compressed attack...but it still has clarity. Was this his ADA preamp days? Was that the TS pedal causing that? It's not as great as his tone here in the live earlier period, but I still like it.

After the "Pride" CD and Tour he switched his setup to ADA preamps and Carvin FET SS power amps.
He also started using Steinberger guitars with EMG active pickups , not sure what effects he actually used live .

Cue Business and Timeroo to come crap on your thread in 3, 2, 1........

Im also aware that other decades exist. There's a difference.

I have no idea what sort of nonsense you are talking about. I have a calendar right here on the wall next to me. May 22, 1986 it clearly shows. :D

I think the EMGs were a big part of that tone.

Speaking of EMGs and MTV concerts at the Ritz.......check out the Great White show when they opened for Gn'R from this same year. Mark Kendall is using EMG-loaded custom Music Works guitars into Marshalls, and the tone is freaking amazing.
