I curious as to who builds these cabinets and what their build quality is. How do they stand up to lower end cabs like Avatar and higher end cabs like Bogner?
Well first off expect a much tighter punchier low end and a smoother top end. I have 2 Splawn cabs, a 4x12 with sb's and a 2x12 with a govenor/man-o-war combo. I've played my quickrod through a few other cabs and can honestly say that the Splawn cabs a miles above the rest. They are SOLID...you can feel the quality just touching and lifting themLublin":3ncrwyv4 said:Thanks for the info, guys! Very grateful for your quick responses.
I'm currently running my Quick Rod through an open-back Avatar 2x12 with V30's but would really would like to pick up a matching Splawn 2x12 cab. Scott recommended one with Small Black speakers. What kind of difference can I expect between these two cabs?

But I currently own a Bogner Ubercab and OS2X12 (I've had two of those) that pretty much destroy every other cab I've ever had or put them up against. In fact, at band practice last night me and the other player were A/B'ing my V30-loaded OS2X12 against his custom-built 2X12 loaded with Governors and mine just put his to shame. Sounde HUGE in comparison. So I'm having trouble believing that Splawn cabs are "miles above the rest" if Bogner, Mills Acoustics, Ear Candy, Diezel, some Mesa cabs, etc are considered to be "the rest".![]()

Blowback from using comic book terminology to describe gear vs other gear.

Judging by some users on TGP, gear may very well be partaking in the most epic if battles.Shiny_Surface":73yhx9yc said:Lord Toneking":73yhx9yc said:Did I use comic book terminology?...or are you just poking again trying to hit a nerve with me?...again![]()

General comment regarding how people use colorful terms to imply that there is some epic battle going on between inanimate objects/guitar gear.

I hated them. They sounded like ass to me with the amps I have(one of them being a Splawn) and I think my amps sound great with V30s.
