Who digs Helmet? ESP/LTD content

I am a big Helmet fan and always liked Page's beat up Horizon. It is a lot like a soloist with the neck thru, binding and ebony. The fretwork is beautiful, it is a real Floyd and the DiMarzio sounds great in this particular guitar. I keep it tuned to Drop B. I have the Floyd blocked to only go down. I met Page a couple years back and he graciously got me the hookup for this guitar when I was looking for one.

I went to see Helmet back in March of this year and got to check out Page's actual #1 as well...here are some pics of it and a couple of actions shots.

I played one of those and didn't care for the skinny neck. I wouldn't mind an older ESP though. Just need to find the right neck. Even though Meantime was the breakthrough I find Betty is the Helmet I have on rotation over the years. I remember when Meantime first came out and people either saw it as boring or as the rebirth of what heavy could be in the ashes of 80's metal/hardcore. That was a cool time.

Love Helmut, they were cool back in the day as they were very heavy sounding compared to the mainstream stuff. Plus he used VHT stuff that sounded awesome.

Man, Page Hamilton is way underestimated IMO. He's been turning out some of the heaviest riffs for the last 20 odd years. Saw them play at xmas and the guitar sound was phenomenal. Not an obvious choice maybe, but i think i'd put Aftertaste down as my fave Helmet album.

That is his real original one, he did have a couple of relic'd copies with him which even had the crack in the back of the neck!

They had Fryette amps and it sounded great.

My LTD came relic'd like that, I think they are discontinued now, I would like to get another.

Helmet are wicked. One of the many bands I found on the internet that I don't know a single other fan personally.

One of my faves - period.

I remember first hearing MEANTIME when it came out - totally flattened EVERYTHING in its path back then. There was nothing else, it was just the cusp of grunge going big, but as for the metal zone - big hair, spandex, and shitty radio friendly bunk.

Ya, Page rocks. I met him 5 years ago or so during a big outdoor concert in Alberta. Was super nice, laid back, funny, and didn't mind taking pokes about his pink guitar.

cool guitar, i saw one a few months ago at a store by my house and i bet its still there if anybody wants it.
i saw helmet live at roseland in the early 90s and i loved that band.
