Who else makes a 300k pot.???????

Looking to replace one in my LP......The first one lasted 30 yrs........The replacement lasted 2 yrs.....I really don't want another Gibson pot based on this soooooooo who out there sells a quality 300k.....

Out of curiosity why not just replace it with a 500k?

I had 300k volume and 100k tone pots that were replaced with 500k pots, made world of a difference.

Hi Rawk......Tried that a while ago and it was too bright.....The bridge T-Top in this LP is a bit brighter or maybe hotter than others I've played for some reason.........The neck has a 500k and I love it.....The bridge not so much....

U can always make a 500k.into a 300k....750k resistor across the outer lugs.

Not without changing the taper of the pot. Sometimes drastically.

Yeah. As long as you're okay with the taper change, which will be different depending on the value of the resistor you use.

I had tried that when the 500k was in there and yes the taper was drastically changed and not for the better.........
The 300k with a treble bleed works best in this guitar.......BTW the Bourns pots have a great feel and taper to them......Much better than CTS or Gibson IME......

I've never tried the Bourns. All I really have experience with are the stock Gibson pots and the CTS pots from RS Guitarworks. Except that that are a little too high in value for my taste. I think they're somewhere around. 560k. If Bourns pots fit in my LPs (long shaft), have a nice taper, and don't measure too much over 500k, I might try them. 300k is a good value. But I think for the pickups I'm using and the amp (Diezel), 300k would be a little too dark. But great for a bright amp like a Marshall.
