My buddy has a couple of them, very nice guitars

Yes, I absolutely love mine. I think it's worth the dough - I've owned two, and both have been outstanding. It sustains as well as any bolt on neck superstrat with a floating bridge. It sounds pretty full, obviously not a LP but it sounds big for what it is. I recommend the D-Sonic pickup over the Steve's Special as I just love Linkin Park tones... No but seriously, it has more mids, a tighter bottom and generally sounds bigger. You can get the action down insanely low, and have no issues. Mine is at 1/32" high e, 12th fret, and it screams. And it's most definitely not just for low tuned stuff, infact, mine has never been out of standard tuning.
A few other things to add: The bridge is absolutely glorious. String changes are a breeze and it really feels great. As LTK said, very smooth feeling, and very responsive. And I just love the neck. It's thin, but it's not totally paper thin. The neck finish feels just great and really lends itself to some speedy playing. Piezo is very, very nice too. If you use the stereo output through a clean amp, having the selector on the top horn in the middle position, in conjunction with the magnetics in either the centre-split or neck position heralds some really gorgeous cleans tones - again as LTK said. But where it really shines is into a full range system. It doesn't sound exactly like an acoustic, but it gets the job done, and is a very useful tool.
Oh, and LTK is an utter newb
because I love where the switch is positioned; exactly the right place for quick changes. I wish my Ibanez had a similar switch and switch position.

We've had a few come through....EB does not mess around. Their guitars are some of the best as far as fit and finish goes...
The have a weird neck on 'em though, at least for me it felt very uncomfortable and I can get used to almost anything. Definitely play before you buy.

I had one in the Egyptian Smoke color...it was a very nice looking guitar. Maybe I'm nuts, but it was so light that it seemed almost flimsy...I expected it to be heavier. I don't like ultra-heavy guitars, but it just felt like it didn't have enough mass to get a great chunky sound. I have an Axis that I love, and for a smaller guitar, is seems more substantial that the JP6.
Quality-wise, though, it was extremely well built and finished nicely...ultra-cool & unique neck (like all EB/MM) if you dig them.

I have had a seven string version and the six that I own now. Currently, my favorite guitar. You either love or hate the neck. Personally, easiest neck for me to play on. I am a huge Ernie Ball fan. In fact, I'm thinking of going for a Luke II. We will see.
If you can try one out, do it. Best production line guitars on the market. I have the original stock bridge pickup on mine. I tried a D-Sonic on my seven string version and didn't like it as much. I have since tried a D-Sonic in one of the Ball Family Reserve guitars and thought it sounded really good. I think it is a good match for the BFRs.
Here is a pick of mine (I switched out the stock volume knobs for chrome ones. I think it looks better with the Lava Pearl finish

Great guitars. I have the base model without Piezo and I really want a 7 string model now. I don't like the pups so much any more with my amps I am using but other than that, it is my favorite guitar ever. The most comfortable, fastest neck I have ever played. The guitar overall feels right for me. Check them out if you can. 2 thumbs wayyyyyy up!
