We are mostly a metal bunch but I am wondering if there is someone amongst our ranks that can rip some MK/ Joe B style riffage?

I’ve Been listening to a bunch of old Nugent and even Thoroughgood stuff.

All of that style is so far out of my wheelhouse I can’t even imagine.

Who in here owns that style?

The Marcus King stuff is different to me than the Joe B style. Joe B is more english blues derivative with some Eric Johnson thrown in. MK seems more melodic Southern Allman Bros etc tome. I love MK and wish I could sound like that. But we are what we are sometimes I guess.

I agree completely and thought about that after posting.

man MK is my JAM. Saw him in February and he SLAYED. we just added a couple of his to the set for next year. I won't say i master it, but it's definitely my wheelhouse. I am honestly not a newer metal guy, tried it and it's just not my jam. Especially the screamo stuff. Rare exception is the Killswitch stuff with the black dude, that guy rips. Love me some 80's metal and rock stuff tho.

Mad respect for the metal musicians. the drums and guitars are always fantastic, just after a while i get fatigued with it.

completely agree. both are 2 fantastic different flavors in the same general family.

Carlyguitar hands down. He kills that heavy 60's and 70's heavy blues/rock shit. Clips and demos are always killer. Has a direct line to Jimi and Trower.
edit-CarlF....my bad.....
