Who likes P90s?

I'm on a P-90 kick as we speak, I love those pickups! They are all attitude and clean up unbelievably well when rolled off.
I've heard some really noisy ones in the past, which kinda spooked me for high gain applications, but there are some that are not that noisy at all. They have a pissed off snarl that nothing else I've heard will get. I've heard the HB sized Duncans, and they were not bad, but I much prefer the old school size, they just have more of why you like them in the first place

Represent! I've owned the gold top version of that same guitar since August, and I haven't picked up my old Ibanez since. It just sorta sings.

The best humbucker sized P90 IMO is the Bare Knuckle Mississippi Queen. It's a pure and true P90 pickup that is fit into a humbucker shell. So it's not a humbucker imitating a P90, it's the real thing under the hood. On top of that, it just sounds awesome. Raw, snarly and angry.

Try the BG pure 90's really great true P90 under a hb sized cover. Pretty quiet for P90's. Get an ISP decimator for any buzz. Wow wcr makes P-90's would love to try those!

I LOVE P90s, more so than humbuckers honestly.... (but it's understandable because I'm a single coil guy)

Here's my Les Paul Custom with Humbucker size P90s (Duncan Phat Cats) I love them, they sound REALLY go IMO. The amp is the Egnater Renegade behind without fx or boost. Mic'd with an SM57 and MD421

This tone is great, love the way that guitar roars. I always loved p90's and used them in my main guitar for years.

Can't rep the pickup specifically, but you might contact Pete @ Vintage Vibe Guitars. He built me custom wrhbs for my 72 ris, and was actually going to do a p90 inside one before i changed my mind. lol. His p90s are pretty well respected, and he builds amazing one-off custom pups at ridiculously reasonable rates.

thank you very much man. I like that tone a lot too, IMO sound very raw and crunchy. Phat Cats a a win in my book.
