what do you call the clip i posted then?? its a live band playing a riff lol
Isn’t it really called Scat? Steven Tyler is a great scatter-“walk this way”. We just don’t call it rap until Run DMC got ahold of it. Then BOOM!

Early Ice T is listenable. And the thing about Grandmaster Flash’s “the Message” is that it still sounded like a song. A great song.

I can do Emminem, Run DMC, Snoop, Public Enemy and Ice but that is about it.

311 does that scat thing. Some might consider some verses to be rapping but it is mostly scat IMO.

Rap is not music.

The title of this should be "who likes rap?" or "who likes crap?".

have you ever watched some of the producers make their beats? i dont know how some people can and then still say its not music :dunno:

Being a “B-Boy” from 9 mile Ferndale dude..
I also could rap & beat box like a beast.
YOU HAD TO or you would get marked & brutally bullied.
It was survival.

The Beastie Boys are my dudes for rap AND they created THEIR OWN samples to work with.
Homeboys can rock a killer 3 piece.
Yauch was the secret weapon in the crew.

Check this out, google up Dr Dre Chronic.
The song “Ain’t Nothin’’ But a G Thang”.
Now listen to Snoop Dog’s syllables and the way he raps to the same beat but changes the timing with his rhymning.
Now play guitar to his vocal tone and stretch & slur the notes like he raps but use the guitar to pronounce his words.
SUPER DOPE.

somewhere along the way autotune became a popular effect in rap and pop music, it is used more like a chorus than what it was actually designed for
Yeah, and it’s annoying as shit. But different strokes I guess.
