I run a bunch of pedals and I dont' think any are true bypass. As long as my VHT V-1 is first there is no difference in tone. I tried without it once....it was NOT good!

I have thought about getting a VHT valvulator 1, but the negative reliability reviews have kept me away. To me it would be nicer to have the outputs not on the same side as the input.

A good buffer is nice to have if you are having trouble with some tone sucking pedals....

What has been going wrong with them? I've had mine on my board since they first came out. Never an issue at all......I still have the original tube in it too :)

Reading the HC reviews, there are a number of reports of them having issues, mainly with the tube section (power supply would work on a number of reviews). Enough to concern me about getting one. I am thinking of picking up an MI audio Boost 'n Buff.

Hmm..thats weird. I've sold a bunch of them and no one has had any issues with them. And like I said, mine has been on my board 4 years maybe and no issues. It rides in the van with my pedalboard always, schlepped in and out etc, always worked so far.

The only issue I ran into was my Fishman Aura shutting down. It came down to running too many pedals off of one tap. Re arranged alittle and everything was fine. That unit must draw some ma's....

I've used a V-1 for years, too. Finally had an issue with it back in December. Sent it to VHT and they fixed it for only $25 plus shipping. Apparently that is all they charge for repair, even if they have to replace everything inside. Great customer service!
