Strat's are amazing. Everytime time I play a quality Strat I am amazed. They play so great, stay in tune well, are uber comfortable, and look like toy guitars. And they are strong, sturdy guitars!
"Hey everyone, look at me, look at me. I break things while my band continues to play unmelodic crap. Aren't we avant garde? Aren't we cool. You will remember us. Tonight we are rock stars."
It seems like the club wasn't upset by this. I wonder if they built the stage themselves and planned this event to gain some notoriety. If the club owner was pissed, I think he/she/they would've stopped them. The guitarist went a long time banging away on the stage floor.
I think the Used, on their first national television appearance on Conan in 2003, pissed Conan off when they proceeded to destroy their gear after their set. Conan seemed a bit surprised and possibly annoyed. It was a gutsy move by Quinn, the guitarist, to bang his Strat on their floor. I wonder if he damaged it and had to pay them for such damages? Looking back, I should've known something was going to happen -- Quinn was using a rather "beater" lookin' Strat, covered in stickers, and two Line 6 cabs. Notice he destroys the Line 6 cabs and not the Marshalls. The Line 6s probably were just there as dummy cabs to help gain the band some notoriety as they destroyed their gear.
How lame, 4 minutes of her hacking up a stage with her guitar while the band plays crappy music in the background. Always painful to see a guitar get abused.
